1. What is the current disaster situation in the Philippines?
- The current disaster situation in the Philippines was a total of 50 disasters in the month
of October 2022. There are 11 landslides, 34 floods, and 1 storm that affected the
Philippines. As for the month of November 2022, the NDRRMC remains on alert red in
provinces where there are heavy rains that caused floods and landslides.

2. What is the recent disaster risk reduction management program in the Philippines and
how it adapts to the changing disaster situation of the country?
- The Philippines’ NDRRMP has outlined activities that aim at strengthening the ability of
the national and local governments which are the LGUs. The plans for the year 2020 to
2030 will be focusing on climate change adaptation and human security on disaster
risks. The NDRRMP is building the disaster resilience of every community for minimizing
disaster risks. The DRR's current programs adapt to the current disaster situations in the
country by assisting, developing, and delivering services that are directed at protecting
and securing the lives of Filipinos in a cost-effective and sustainable manner.

3. What are the disaster-prone community?


- A disaster-prone community is a place where there are weak roads, infrastructures of
buildings, community sanitation, transportation, and some risky areas environment.

4. What is Republic Act No. 10121?


- The Republic Act No. 10121 is an act of strengthening the disaster risk reduction and
management system of the Philippines. Where it provides all hazards and a
comprehensive and community-based approach to risks from any disasters.

5. What are the phases of disaster?


- The phases of disaster are prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response, and
recovery.
