Angyalföld (http://www.budapest13.hu/)
(German: Engelsfeld; literally: "Angel's
Field") in the 13th district in Budapest. In
the early 20th century, this area was a
slum. Until the 1950s it was a part of the
7th District. Then housing estates with
mostly 11-floor buildings were built. The
traditionally working class neighbourhood
in the northern and eastern part went
through a process of gentrification due to
the shopping centre/office-building boom
of the 1990s. Almost at same time
starting an luxury estate boom, thousands
of apartments were built along the Danube
River.
