Croatia Destination For Design Cataloque
Croatia Destination For Design Cataloque
A well-kept secret with a unique blend of nature and history and Dalmatian
coastline
Journey Highlights
Experience the best of Croatia with a 6-night stay, exploring the most beautiful towns
and the capital city, Zagreb. The journey begins in Zagreb, and culminates in a visit to
Dubrovnik, considered the most beautiful town in the country.
Croatia, a gem nestled between South-Central and Middle Europe, is a destination that
offers unspoiled natural beauty and preserved cultural traditions. Despite its many
allurements, it remains less crowded with tourists compared to Europe's major cities.
In 2022, the country welcomed 18.9 million tourists, with the highest record being
19.6 million in 2019 prior to the pandemic.
Croatia's Adriatic Sea is known for its relatively low salinity, which contributes to the
distinctive taste of its seafood. Whether it's grilled squid, succulent lobster, or fresh
oysters, the country's seafood dishes are a feast for the senses, thanks to the skilled
chefs who prepare them using traditional Croatian methods. Apart from seafood, the
country's culinary delights also include a variety of meat dishes and local specialties
that require advanced booking, such as specially cooked lamb or veal. Even a simple
dish like risotto is a gastronomic treat in Croatia. One can enjoy premium Grand Cru
class wine and sumptuous meals without breaking the bank. The Croatians, much like
the Thais, are friendly, vivacious, and sincere
For history buffs and art enthusiasts, Croatia is a treasure trove of historical sites
dating back to prehistoric times and a rich architectural heritage influenced by Greek,
Byzantine, Venetian, and Austrian-Hungarian cultures. This blend of influences has
given the country a unique cultural identity.
CROATIA
Note : Recommend Summer June - early Aug since weather is very hot and clients lose energy.
Not recommend Winter off season since a lot of rain, wind, and good places from restaurants, hotels,
and some attractions are closed.

Commentary:
This is the most popular and most successful route for Croatia trip. Where clients get to enjoy the very
best of Dalmatian coast in a good pace.
Plans that deviate from this, clients would lose out on the uniquely great destination of Hvar and
spend less than 2 nights in Dubrovnik.
Many programs include Bosnia and Montenegro but we should remove the temptation of collecting
new countries on this trip since those destinations
are not as WOW as top Croatian destinations like Hvar and Dubrovnik. Do not add them if clients
don’t already have those covered.
Destinations
Zagreb
This city isn’t that much of a highlight compared to the rest of the trip and other gems of central and
eastern europe. So don’t spend more than 1 night here.
Plitvice
The most important destination in the northern part of Croatia. This takes a lot of easy walking and
clients get to enjoy clear emerald green water.
Zadar
The town itself isn’t the most interesting though there’s sea organ and greeting to the sun as popular
landmark.
Pretty much a place to eat at Fosa and sleep.
Trogir
Good destination to visit along the way to Split since clients get very good photos here along the
water.
Split
UNESCO and a must city. Split is enlisted in UNESCO’s World Heritage because of the remarkably
well-preserved enormous original Roman architecture and there are also many Gothic Renaissance
buildings built inside the palace. Luxury Baroque building can be found inside the Old Town as well.
Split can be very delightful for people who are interested in art and history. The Old Town can offer
them special experience that they can’t find anywhere else like staying in the original Roman palace,
unlike other ancient architecture such as Colosseum which is only open on business hours and very
crowded.
It’s recommended to stay outside the old town but visit several times. Highlight is the Old Town and
historical area.
Hvar
The most high-class destination in Croatia. From celebrities and royalties all enjoy overnight stays
here. For most of our groups with limited time
it’s better to take a fast boat to here and enjoy sightseeing Stari Grad (old town), countryside, and
winery.
As of 2023
Jadrolinija runs a daily ferry service (line no. 635) from the Port of Split to Stari Grad, which takes 2
hours. In the summer months, there are up to seven services per day, and during the offseason, up to
four. This is the best service for those who are exploring the west of Croatia or are coming from Italy,
Slovenia, Austria, Hungary etc.
Alternatively, there's a route from Drvenik (closer to the eastern part of Croatia and Dubrovnik) to
Sucuraj on the easternmost point of Hvar Island, which takes 35 minutes and runs daily with increased
frequency over the peak season. This is also operated by Jadrolinija. So this might be interesting to
get from Split to Hvar then Hvar to Dubrovnik.
Mali Ston
This place is a must for the oyster lunch stop.
Dubrovnik
The city to make the Croatia trip for. Visiting the old town and doing a boat ride is the most
highlighted activities. If clients have time and energy then walking the city walls. Doing the funicular
ride to Panoramic view so far seems to be so-so and skippable. Make sure client gets to enjoy the
hotel. Choose hotel well and logistics on transport is difficult since the streets are narrow and large
group might need V-Class transfer. Better to choose hotels that are walkable to old town or to have
enough V-Class and time to do the in and out.
