Description Of Change: Screen assemblies are now used in the brake oil cooling lines group on certain 777G Off-Highway Trucks. Screen
assemblies are installed on the engine-mounted brake oil cooler and the frame-mounted brake oil cooler which will help protect the coolers from
being damaged by debris .

New screen assembly (1) is adaptable to the machines within the listed serial numbers, and is effective in production with all the machines after the
listed serial numbers.

Follow the rework procedure given below to install screen assembly (1).
Rework Procedure

Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot
oil.

Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after


the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if
this pressure is not released before any service is done on the
hydraulic system.

Make sure all of the attachments have been lowered, oil is cool
before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler
cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool
enough to touch with your bare hand.

NOTICE
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during
performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and
repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with
suitable containers before opening any compartment or
disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool


Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain
fluids on Cat® products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and


mandates.

1. Prepare the machine for maintenance. For the correct procedure, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Prepare the Machine for
Maintenance" prior to performing any maintenance on the machine.

2. Remove elbow adapter (B) from elbow (C).

3. Remove connector (D) from elbow (C) as shown in Illustration 4.

4. Install screen assembly (1) to elbow (C) using elbow (4), O-Ring seal (2), and O-Ring seal (3), and O-Ring seal (5).

5. Install screen assembly (1) to elbow (C) using O-Ring seal (2), O-Ring seal (3), O-Ring seal (5), and connector (6).
