CRICKET TOURNAMENT RULES AND REGULATIONS
GENERAL RULES
1. The entire tournament would be played on League plus Knockout basis.
2. Match will be of 10 overs each side (T10).
3. Gross blue print of matches will be as under –
4. City and State level matches will be managed by the Sports Connect State Board.
5. Probable venues for Zone level matches will be :-
A. NORTH ZONE – DELHI
B. SOUTH ZONE – CHENNAI
C. WEST ZONE – AHMEDABAD / MUMBAI
D. EAST ZONE – GREATER NOIDA / GHAZIABAD / BHUBANESHWAR
E. CENTRAL ZONE – INDORE
6. The tournament committee reserves the right to shift the venue or revise the format under
unavoidable circumstances
7. Only Physiotherapy students / Professionals can participate in the event and they will
represent their respective college / hospital/institute.
8. Each team will be required to furnish the names and details of the players representing
them on the registration form during the time of registration
9. Registration Forms of participation of the participating college / hospital / clinic teams must
be submitted through their official email id along with the valid ID proof of the players. In
case of any suspicion, Tournament Board has the right to request for additional verification
(Copy of College ID Card / IAP ID Card / IAP Membership Certificate/Hospital or Institute
ID card)

FORMATION OF TEAM
1. Each team should consist of 15 members
a. 13 Players
b. One Team Coach
c. One Team Manager
2. The team has a right to select the Playing 11 from the 13 players for every match and has
to announce their playing 11 at the time of reporting to the ground for the match
3. The team can decide their match uniform and all players have to wear the same.
White/Coloured for Day matches and Coloured for Night Matches
4. Players have to bring their own kit
5. For preventing certain injuries, player must come with their appropriate protective
equipments and failure to do so will make them ineligible to play that match.
6. First Aid kits will be available to treat any injuries sustained while playing. Sports Connect
RULES FOR REPORTING
1. The teams should report the ground before 45 minutes of the scheduled start of the match at
the scorer’s desk, hand over the list of playing 11 and be ready for the toss and match
2. If any team reports the ground 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time of the match or if
any team is not ready to take the field at the scheduled start of the play, batting overs of
that team will be reduced at the rate of one over per four minutes of delay. The opponent
team will get to bat for full innings.
3. If any team doesn’t report on time and is late by 15 minutes of the scheduled time,
opponent team will be declared winner for that match without playing
4. If both the teams report late at the venue, umpire has the right to either call off the match
disqualifying both the teams or deduct the overs of the match.
5. In all the above situations, irrespective of the rules, umpires’ decisionwill be considered
final

MATCH RULES
1. It will be a 10 over match for each team
2. In case of a tie in the match, winner will be decided by a SUPEROVER
3. Maximum two Superovers will be played. If at the end of two superover, there is a tie, winner
will be decided by spin of a coin
4. In case if any untoward event, weather situations or any unavoidable circumstances, minimum
five overs each side will be required to constitute a match
5. The tournament committee reserves the right to reduce the match overs if the circumstances
arise when there is insufficient time to complete the overs, interruption before the scheduled
start or during the match or bad weather. Overs shall be reduced at the rate of one over per
four minutes of delay.
6. If a game is stopped due to bad light or bad weather, or due to any unavoidable reasons
beyond the control of tournament committee, the revised targets will be calculated according to
Duckworth-Lewis method.
7. If the team batting first has completed 10 overs and the team batting second completes 5 overs
and cannot play further due to untoward circumstances, the winner will be decided by
Duckworth-Lewis method.
8. In case the team batting second cannot complete a minimum of 5 overs, the winner shall be
decided by spin of a coin.
9. There will be 5-minutes break after the completion of 5 overs in both the innings. A 15-minute
break will be allowed to both the sides at the time of change of innings
10. No player can play for more than one team in the tournament
11. All scoring will be done manually. The official match scorers’ notations will be considered as
final
12. Qualified and professional panel umpires will
be posted for this tournament.
13. On the field during play, the decision of
umpires would be final and binding to all.
14.Protests, if any should be lodged only by
the team captain or manager within one hour
after the completion of the match with a fee
of INR 2000/-, refundable only if the protest
is found to be valid.
15. The tournament committee reserves the right
to frame/ change/ modify any of the rules at
any stage of the competition if found
necessary
BOWLING RULES
1. Ball used for the tournaments will be provided by the organizers. Teams will be allowed to
choose from the box of new balls provided.
2. Change of ball during the play will be at the sole discretion of the umpires.
3. No bowler will be allowed to bowl more than 1/5th of the total overs in an innings i.e. a bowler
can ball maximum 2 overs in an innings.
4. No-ball and Wide-ball will account for extra runs
5. No-ball will be followed by a free hit
6. Bowling team should complete their 10 overs within 45 minutes. A bonus of 6 runs will be given
to the batting team if the bowling side has not begun its tenth over before their 45 minutes is up.

BATTING RULES
1. No spiked footwear shall be permitted while batting
2. Wooden bats to be used
3. Once a wicket has fallen, the following batsman must be on the field at his position within 2
minutes. If they are unable to do so, they could potentially be disqualified from batting in that
innings
4. If a batsman is injured, he can ask for a runner. The umpires shall have the discretion to allow
this
5. The deliberate act of the batting side to waste time like by taking drinks, unnecessarily
changing equipment may be considered as time-consuming and the Umpires decision
regarding this will be final

FIELDING RULES
1. First three overs shall be the Powerplay overs
2. During the powerplay, only two fieldsman shall be permitted outside the fielding restriction
area (30-yard circle)
3. During the non Powerplay overs, not more than 5 fieldsman shall be allowed outside the
fielding restriction area.
4. Under the circumsrtances when the number of overs of batting team is reduced, the number of
Power play overs shall exist accordingly
5. If a player is injured, a substitute fielder can replace the injured player only for fielding
purpose.

PROCEDURE OF A SUPER OVER


1. The team batting second in the match shall bat first in a super over
2. Both the teams will have a right to choose their ball for bowling superover from the box of balls
that were used during the entire match. No new ball will be given for a superover
3. Loss of two wickets in the superover ends the team’s one over innings
4. If the superover gets tied, there will be another superover. If both the superovers get tied, spin
of a coin shall be done to decide which team will move ahead in the tournament.
5. To spin a coin, the team that won the toss of the match will have a say to choose their side of
the coin
