 Specific cargo preparations upon “finished with engines”(FWE)
 Port specific regulations regarding changeover of Main and Aux:
machinery to Low Sulfur fuel

3 Steering gear checked
4 Communication means tested between:- Bridge/Engine room,
Bridge/Steering Gear room and Engine room/Steering Gear room
5 Synchronization of engine room clock(s)
6 Engine-room adequately manned as per C/E’s requirements
7 Main Engine control systems checked
8 Adequate reserve of electrical power available (eg.Addl.gen.on load)
9 Main Air/control air Bottles pressed up and drained of condensate
10 Fuel systems readied in all respects
11 Press up both Aux Boilers & put one on AUTO mode
12 Fresh water Generating Plant shut down (if applicable)
13 Economizer sootblown prior to speed reduction (if applicable)
14 Pressure in the line to the ship’s air whistle checked
15.1 All anti-pollution measures taken (OWS secured & locked) Confirm status
15.2 All anti-pollution measures taken (Sewage O/B secured & locked) Confirm status
16 Main cooling seawater suction changed over (if applicable)
17 Mooring machinery power supplied & pumps running on STBY mode
18 Cooling Water for deck machinery supplied
19 Any special requirements of the Arrival Port complied with
20 Deck air open
21 Open jacket heating steam
22 The Duty Engineer Should notify Chief Engineer in case any equipment
is found to be defective during the Pre-Arrival checks.
23 The Duty Engineer Should check that Data Loggers and Alarm Printers
are updated with above tests.
