accomplishment: something that is successful, or that is achieved after


a lot of work or effort.
best seller: a new book or other product that has sold a great number of
copies.
competition: a situation in which someone is trying to win something or
be more successful than someone else.
degree: (an) amount or level of something.
discipline: the ability to control yourself or other people, even in difficult
situations.
eagle: a large, strong bird with a curved beak that eats meat and can see
very well.
goal: something you want to do successfully in the future.
goggles: special glasses that fit close to your face to protect your eyes.
grade: a level of quality, size, importance, etc.
hurdle: a problem or difficulty.
internship: a period of time during which someone works for a company
or organization in order to get experience of a particular type of work.
lifetime: the period of time during which someone lives or something
exists.
marathon: a race in which people run for about 26 miles/42 km.
nomad: a member of a group of people who move from one place to
another rather than living in one place all of the time.
pleasure: a feeling of happiness or enjoyment.
promotion: activities to advertise something.
savings: the money you keep, esp. in a bank or other financial
organization.
skill: a special ability to do something.
personal statement: a short-written description of your personal qualities
that you include with a CV, a university application form, etc. when
applying for a job or a place on a course.
wish: a thing you want to do or that you want to happen.

adaptable: able or willing to change in order to suit different conditions.


compassionate: feeling or showing sympathy and sadness for the
suffering or bad luck of others, and wanting to help them.
courageous: having or showing courage (bravery).
cynical: believing that people are only interested in themselves and are
not sincere / or not trusting or respecting the goodness of other people
and their actions, but believing that people are interested only in
themselves.
dependent: needing the support of something or someone in order to
continue existing or operating.
downhill: towards the bottom of a hill or slope.
healthy: good for your health.
(un)imaginative: not new, original, or clever; not showing any
imagination
Insensitive: not showing any reaction to something, or unable to feel
something.
resourceful: good at finding ways to solve problems.
rigid: stiff or fixed; not able to be bent or moved / not able to be changed
or persuaded.
self-motivated: able and willing to work without being told what to do.
self-sufficient: able to provide everything you need, especially food, for
yourself without the help of other people.
steady: at a regular or constant rate.
timid: shy and nervous; without much confidence; easily frightened.
upbeat: full of hope and happiness

achieve: succeed in doing something good, usually by working hard.


count (on someone): be confident that you can depend on someone.
deliver: to give, direct, or aim something.
develop: to (cause something to) grow or change into a more advanced,
larger, or stronger form.
manage (to): to succeed in doing or dealing with something, especially
something difficult.
pack: put your things into bags.
proud: feeling very pleased about something one has done.
quit: leave your job permanently.
retire: leave your job and stop working, usually because you
are old.
share: to have or use something at the same time as someone else.
soar: to rise very quickly to a high level.
succeed: achieve a goal.
switch: change.

ahead: in front / or making more progress than someone else .
