Conditional 1: possible
If you prepare well, you will pass the test.

conditional 2: imaginary , unrealistic


if I had wings, I would fly.
If I had time, I would go.
If I were 14 years, I would go to the zoo.
If I were you, I wouldn’t do it.
It means that I don’t have time now and I really can’t go now.

Conditional 3: regret
If they had arrived earlier, they wouldn’t have missed the train.
If – past perfect * would have – past participle
This means that they hadn’t arrived earlier, and the result was that they missed the train. They didn’t travel.

Mixed conditional
1. If you had learnt languages, you would be at this centre now. Past – present
2. if she had respected her job, she would be with us now. Past – present

3. If you had learnt Chinese last year, you would be working in China next year. Past - future
4. If you hadn’t wasted time, you would be with at university next year. Past – future

5. If I were rich, I would have bought that MacBook yesterday. Present – past
6. if I were free, I would have travelled to Turkey last week. Present – past
If I didn’t have a lot of books, I wouldn’t send you some next week.
If the teachers were not coming to my house next weekend. I would have planned a session with you.
