General Instructions:
1. This question paper consists of five sections.
 Section I: Question No. 1 to 12 are of 1 mark each. (10 are MCQ Type and 2 are
Assertion Reasoning Type Questions)
 Section II: Question No. 13 and 14 are of Case study based Questions. Each case-
study has 3 case-based sub parts, two of them are MCQ type (1 mark each) and
third part is a short answer type (2marks) havin internal choice.
 Section III : Question No. 21 to 26 are very short answer type questions of 2 marks
each.
 Section IV: Question No. 27 to 33 are short answer type questions of 3 marks each.
 Section V: Question No. 34 to 36 are long answer type questions of 5 marks each.

11. Assertion (A) : If a transversal intersects two lines such that a pair of (1)

SECTION-B Case Based (8 Marks)

13. During a festival season, the shopkeepers offer different type of (4)
rebates in order to increase the sale.
In every such sale, an item is tagged with a card and its price called
Marked Price (MP) is written on it. The shopkeeper offers a certain
percentage of rebate known as Discount % (D%) on it.

At AJAY Sales, during one such sale,


the marked price of a computer is
Rs.50,000 and discount offered is 10%.
Also, the store offered 20% discount
on the marked price of a washing
machine whose selling price (SP) was
Rs.25,000.

Based on the information, answer the following questions:

SECTION-D (24 Marks)

23. The area of a square plot is 800sq. metre. Find the estimated length of (3)
the side of the plot.

24. Find the smallest number which when multiplied with 3600 will make (3)
the product a perfect cube. Further, find the cube root of the
product.

25. A train 350m long crosses an electric pole in 28 seconds. Find the (3)
speed of the train in km/hr.
OR
A garrison of 120 men has provision for 30 days. At the end of 5 days, 5
more men joined them. How many days can they sustain on the
remaining provision?
26. Nidhi Purchased 2 sarees for Rs.2150 each. She sold one saree at a loss (3)
of 8% and the other at a gain. If she had a gain of Rs.1230 on the
whole transaction, find the selling price of the second saree.
OR
The Marked price of a computer is Rs.22,000. After allowing a 10%
discount, a dealer still makes a profit of 20%. Find the cost price of the
computer.
27. Find the following products using suitable identity: (3)

28. Draw a line segment AB= 5.5 cm. Find a point P on it such that AP= (3)
PB. Also mention the steps involved.
29. Karan can drive a car continuously at a speed of 30 Km/hr. Draw a (3)
time-distance graph for this situation and use the graph to find:
(i) The time taken by Karan to cover 120Km.
(ii) The distance covered by Karan in 2.5 hrs
30. The length of a roller is 40cm and its diameter is 21cm. It takes 300 (3)
complete revolutions to move once over to level the floor of a room.
Find the area of the room in m2.

A rectangular sheet of paper 88cm X 10cm is rolled along its length
and a cylinder is formed. Find the volume of the cylinder so obtained.

SECTION-E (20 Marks)

31. The area of a square field is 5184 m2. A rectangular field, whose length (5)
is twice its breadth, has its perimeter equal to the perimeter of the
square field. Find the area of the rectangular field.

32. (a) Sachin starts his journey to a certain place by car at 9am and (5)
reaches the place at 1pm. If he drives the car at a speed of 30km/hr.
By how much should he increase the speed so that he can reach the
place by 12pm?

(b) 20 men can build a wall in 9 days. How long would it take 12 men
to build the same wall?

34. (a) Find the area of a trapezium whose parallel sides are 25cm, 13cm (5)
and the other sides are 15cm each.

(b) A swimming pool is 20m in length, 15m in breadth, 4m in depth.


Find the cost of cementing its floor and walls at Rs.35 per sq. m.
