1.0 Purpose

To establish an Operation Control Procedure for Waste Management System.

2.0 Scope
This procedure is applicable to Syrma Technology Private Limited - Plot # B27 Phase II, Zone B,
Plot # A23 & 26 Phase I ( Unit II), MEPZ-SEZ, Tambaram, Chennai, Bargur and Bawal Facility

5.0 Procedure

5.1 The Details of Waste generated in each department is available in department wise aspect and
impact report.
5.2 Since the waste generated in Production floor Magnetics & RFID/ EMS / Antenna / ENGG
Lab/ Facilities Dept/QC/Calibration/Stores/Tool room are significant; Waste Monitoring record
will be maintained by respective dept and HR.
Since the waste generated in Office areas / Manager’s cabins are not significant the waste will be
collected in a common waste bin. The Housekeeping team will segregate the waste category-wise.
Guidelines for segregation of different types of waste:.

The wastes generated at the source point shall be segregated as follows:

1. Bio-Degradable - Green ( Paper, Garden waste , carton box, food waste )


2. Recyclable - Yellow ( Plastic )
3. Hazardous - Red (unleaded solder dross, oil / alcohol mixed cotton waste , unleaded solder
bits , Chemical wipe outs )

5.3 The high value waste / scrap like Copper wires, Aluminium wires, unleaded solder
will be handed over to stores by concerned department and a record is maintained for the same.
5.4 The above high value waste / scrap like Copper wires, Aluminium wires, unleaded solder, used
oil, expired chemicals will be disposed to authorized scrap dealer by Stores and a Scrap disposal
record will be maintained for the same.
5.5 E- Waste ( PCB or PCBA) and soldering dross will be collected by stores directly and disposed
through authorized agent approved by TNPCB and necessary record such as form III and form 12
will be maintained by the store In-charge. This waste is categorized as Hazardous waste.

5.6 UPS battery will be handled by facility directly through buy-back process with appropriate
suppliers.
5.7 The waste / scrap like wooden scrap, foam material, Carton boxes, plastic spools, PVC etc will
be disposed to scrap dealer by Housekeeping In charge and a Scrap disposal record will be
maintained for the same.
5.8 The scraps will be weighed and recorded in Scrap disposal record at the time of disposal.
5.9 The food waste will be given back to the food service provider on timely basis
5.10 Separate partitions with proper identification shall be made to store all the wastes to avoid mixing
5.11 Adequate fire extinguishers to be provided at the place of the storage of waste
5.12 Containers shall be handled and stored in a manner that shall preclude leakage, spills, or
damage to the Container.
5.13 Hazardous waste storage areas shall be clearly labeled and restricted to authorized personnel
only.
5.14 Hazardous wastes shall be stored in a manner that allows for adequate segregation
and shall not be stored in excess that would potentially create an unsafe environment
5.15 Adequate aisle space shall be maintained between containers of waste to facilitate access and
inspection
5.16 Hazardous wastes must be stored in accordance with the requirements of State Pollution Control
Board’s Regulations as per following.
5.17 The facility shall maintain a log, which contains the following information:
a) Description of Hazard waste
b) Quantity of Hazard waste
c) The name and address of the consignee of package for disposal which is authorized waste
collector.
d) Mode of packing of the waste for transportation
e) Mode of transport of site of disposal

5.18 Segregation of Contractor Waste:

a) During construction activities outside contractors shall be required to separate their waste from
the site's non-hazardous waste.
b) Contractors shall be responsible for disposing of their waste in accordance with all applicable
regulations.
