Search on the internet and identify the examples of office suites that is commonly used in the
businesses nowadays and determine what are the applications that are included in its’ package.

Important information should include the following:


1. Name of office suite or package
2. Short background of the company/developer.
3. Description of the office suite.
4. Details about each application included in the package.
5. The purpose of each application.

Microsoft 365

A quick background on the developer of Microsoft 365. In 1975 Bill Gates and Paul G. Allen, two
boyhood friends from Seattle, converted BASIC, a popular mainframe computer programming language,
for use on an early personal computer (PC), the Altair. Shortly afterward, Gates and Allen founded
Microsoft, deriving the name from the words microcomputer and software.

What is Office 365?

Microsoft 365 is our cloud-powered productivity platform. With a subscription to Microsoft 365, you can
get: The latest productivity apps, such as Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive,
and so much more. The ability to install on PCs, Macs, tablets, and phones. Microsoft designed
subscription plans for home users, enterprise IT and everything in between. Here are some of the more
common Office 365 features: Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Publisher, Skype
for Business, Access) Exchange Online (email, calendar, tasks)

What applications are included in the package and its description?

We at some point use some of these applications. May it for school, work, and other personal agendas.
Here are the applications included in the Microsoft 365 package.

 Microsoft Access is a database management system (DBMS) from Microsoft that combines the
relational Access Database Engine (ACE) with a graphical user interface and software-
development tools.

 Excel is a spreadsheet program from Microsoft and a component of its Office product group for
business applications. Microsoft Excel enables users to format, organize and calculate data in a
spreadsheet.
 OneDrive for home is online personal storage that you get when you set up a Microsoft account
to use services such as Outlook.com or Xbox. Use OneDrive to save documents, photos, and
other files in the cloud, share them with friends, and even collaborate on content.

 OneNote is a digital note-taking app that provides a single place for keeping all of your notes,
research, plans, and information — everything you need to remember and manage in your life
at home, at work, or at school. In OneNote, notebooks never run out of paper.

 Microsoft Outlook is the preferred email client used to send and receive emails by accessing
Microsoft Exchange Server email. Outlook also provides access contact, email calendar and task
management features.

 Microsoft PowerPoint is a powerful slide show presentation program. It is a standard


component of the company's Microsoft Office suite software, and is bundled together with
Word, Excel, and other office productivity tools. The program uses slides to convey information
rich in multimedia.

 Publisher is a desktop publishing application that helps you create visually rich, professional-
looking publications. With Publisher on your PC, you can: Lay out content for a print or online
publication in a variety of pre-designed templates. Create simple items like greeting cards and
labels.

 Skype for Business Online is a communications service that connects people for conversations
anytime and from anywhere. It gives users access to information about presence, and enables
instant messaging, audio and video calling, and extensive web conferencing capabilities.

 Microsoft Teams is the ultimate messaging app for your organization—a workspace for real-time
collaboration and communication, meetings, file and app sharing, and even the occasional
emoji! All in one place, all in the open, all accessible to everyone.

 Microsoft Word is a word processing program that allows for the creation of both simple and
complex documents. With Office 365, you are able to download the application to your hard
drive and will also have access to the online version.

Needless to say, Microsoft 365 is helpful in making sure we accomplish our task for work, school, or ever
our personal needs. It provides the necessary applications to be able to access and finish work that
needs to be done in one whole package.
