Example 1:
A lap wound DC generator has a total number of 12 conductors, with 2 − 𝑝𝑜𝑙𝑒. The flux
passing through is 30 𝑚𝑊𝑏, and the angular mechanical speed is 188.5 𝑟𝑎𝑑 𝑠𝑒𝑐 .
Find the induced voltage.
Sol.
Since the DC machine is of lap wound, therefore the turns ratio is equal to the number of
poles
