ABSTRACT

The Constitution of India guarantees fundamental rights protected under Part III, ensuring
equality and the right to life for all citizens, including those belonging to the LGBT
Community. However, there still exists a contentious debate surrounding their rights. LGBT
individuals are also citizens of this country and deserve equal treatment. Unfortunately,
discrimination based on their sexual orientation is prevalent in society, leading to a loss of
citizenship in a figurative sense. Issues like lack of opportunities for work and education add
to the challenges they face.

The development of such discriminatory attitudes can be attributed to historical prejudices

and the influence of outdated beliefs. It is crucial to address these misconceptions and
promote openness and acceptance in India's approach towards the LGBT Community. People
worldwide experience violence and inequality due to their appearance or the people they
love, which results in social and economic hardships and undeserved stigmatization.

We must strive to create a safe and inclusive environment for individuals from all
backgrounds, treating everyone with equal rights and dignity. Placing constant strain and
scrutiny on the actions and identity of LGBT individuals only exacerbates the problem.
Ultimately, we are all human beings and should be treated with respect and fairness,
regardless of our differences.
