AL-FATIHA

Surah Al-Fatiha
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful (1)

All the praises and thanks be to Allah, the Lord [] of the 'Âlamîn (mankind, jinn and
all that exists). (2) The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful (3) The Only Owner (and
the Only Ruling Judge) of the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)
(4) You (Alone) we worship, and You (Alone) we ask for help (for each and
everything). (5) Guide us to the Straight Way. (6) The Way of those on whom You
have bestowed Your Grace, not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger (such
as the Jews), nor of those who went astray (such as the Christians). (7)
He has forbidden) and love Allâh much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He
Al Baqara (2:1-5)
has ordained)]. (2) Who believe in the Ghaib[] and perform As-Salât (Iqâmat-as-
Salât), and spend out of what we have provided for them [i.e. give Zakât, spend on
themselves, their parents, their children, their wives, etc., and also give charity to
the poor and also in Allâh's Cause - Jihâd,]. (3) And who believe in (the Qurân and
the Sunnah)[] which has been sent down (revealed) to you (Muhammad Peace be
upon him ) and in that which we sent down before [the Taurât (Torah) and the
Injeel (Gospel), etc.] and they believe with certainty in the Hereafter. (Resurrection,
recompense of their good and bad deeds, Paradise and Hell,) (4) They are on (true)
guidance from their Lord, and they are the successful. (5)

Surah Al-Baqara
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Alif-Lâm-Mîm. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'ân and none but
Allâh (Alone) knows their meanings] (1) This is the Book (the Qur'ân), whereof
there is no doubt, a guidance to those who are Al-Muttaqûn [the pious and righteous
persons who fear Allâh much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which
Al Bakara (2:102) Surah Al-Baqara

They followed what the Shayâtin (devils) gave out (falsely of the magic) in the
lifetime of Sulaimân (Solomon). Sulaimân did not disbelieve, but the Shayâtin
(devils) disbelieved, teaching men magic and such things that came down at
Babylon to the two (angels,) Hârût and Mârût, but neither of these two angels
taught anyone (such things) till they had said, "We are only for trial, so disbelieve
not (by learning this magic from us)." And from these (angels) people learn that by
which they cause separation between man and his wife, but they could not thus
harm anyone except by Allâh's Leave. And they learn that which harms them and
profits them not. And indeed they knew that the buyers of it (magic) would have
no share in the Hereafter. And how bad indeed was that for which they sold their
ownselves, if they but knew. (102)
Al Bakara (2:163-164)

Surah Al-Baqara
And your Ilâh (God) is One Ilâh (God - Allâh), Lâ ilâha illa Huwa (there is none who
has the right to be worshipped but He), the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
(163) Verily! In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of
night and day, and the ships which sail through the sea with that which is of use to
mankind, and the water (rain) which Allâh sends down from the sky and makes the
earth alive therewith after its death, and the moving (living) creatures of all kinds
that He has scattered therein, and in the veering of winds and clouds which are
held between the sky and the earth, are indeed Ayât (proofs, evidences, signs, etc.)
for people of understanding. (164)
AYATUL KUDSI (AL QURAN 2:255) Surah Al-Baqara

Allâh! Lâ ilâha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Ever
Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists. Neither slumber, nor sleep
overtake Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on earth.
Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His Permission? He knows what
happens to them (His creatures) in this world, and what will happen to them in the
Hereafter . And they will never compass anything of His Knowledge except that
which He wills. His Kursî[] extends over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no
fatigue in guarding and preserving them. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.
[This Verse 2:255 is called Ayat-ul-Kursî.]— (255)
Sura Bakara (2: 284-286) Surah Al-Baqara
To Allâh belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on the earth, and whether
you disclose what is in your ownselves or conceal it, Allâh will call you to account
for it. Then He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills. And Allâh is
Able to do all things. (284) The Messenger (Muhammad SAW) believes in what has
been sent down to him from his Lord, and (so do) the believers. Each one believes
in Allâh, His Angels, His Books, and His Messengers. (They say), "We make no
distinction between one another of His Messengers" and they say, "We hear, and
we obey. (We seek) Your Forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the return (of all)."
(285) Allâh burdens not a person beyond his scope. He gets reward for that (good)
which he has earned, and he is punished for that (evil) which he has earned. "Our
Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into error, our Lord! Lay not on us a burden
like that which You did lay on those before us (Jews and Christians); our Lord! Put
not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Pardon us and grant us
Forgiveness. Have mercy on us. You are our Maulâ (Patron, Supporter and
Protector, etc.) and give us victory over the disbelieving people." (286)
Sura Al Imran (3: 18-19)

Surah Al-E-Imran
Allâh bears witness that Lâ ilâha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but
He), and the angels, and those having knowledge (also give this witness); (He
always) maintains His creation in Justice. Lâ ilâh illa Huwa (none has the right to
be worshipped but He), the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. (18) Truly, the religion with
Allâh is Islâm. Those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) did not
differ except, out of mutual jealousy, after knowledge had come to them. And
whoever disbelieves in the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, signs, revelations, etc.)
of Allâh, then surely, Allâh is Swift in calling to account. (19)
Sura Al Araf (7:54-56) Surah Al-Araf
Indeed your Lord is Allâh, Who created the heavens and the earth in Six Days, and
then He rose over (Istawâ) the Throne (really in a manner that suits His Majesty).
He brings the night as a cover over the day, seeking it rapidly, and (He created)
the sun, the moon, the stars subjected to His Command. Surely, His is the Creation
and Commandment. Blessed is Allâh, the Lord of the 'Alamîn (mankind, jinn and all
that exists)! (54) Invoke your Lord with humility and in secret. He likes not the
aggressors. (55) And do not do mischief on the earth, after it has been set in order,
and invoke Him with fear and hope; Surely, Allâh's Mercy is (ever) near unto the
good-doers. (56)
Sura Al Araf (7:115-122) showed. (117) Thus truth was confirmed, and all that they did was made of no
effect. (118) So they were defeated there and returned disgraced. (119)And the
sorcerers fell down prostrate. (120) They said: "We believe in the Lord of the
'Alamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists). (121) "The Lord of Mûsa (Moses) and
Hârûn (Aaron)." (122)

Surah Al-Araf
They said: "O Mûsa (Moses)! Either you throw (first), or shall we have the (first)
throw?" (115) He [Mûsa (Moses)] said: "Throw you (first)." So when they threw,
they bewitched the eyes of the people, and struck terror into them, and they
displayed a great magic. (116) And We reveled to Mûsa (Moses) (saying): "Throw
your stick," and behold! It swallowed up straight away all the falsehoods which they
SURA YUNUS (AL QURAN 10:79-82)

Surah Yunus

And Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Bring me every well-versed sorcerer." (79) And when
the sorcerers came, Mûsa (Moses) said to them: "Cast down what you want to
cast!" (80) Then when they had cast down, Mûsa (Moses) said: "What you have
brought is sorcery, Allâh will surely make it of no effect. Verily, Allâh does not set
right the work of Al-Mufsidûn (the evil-doers, corrupters). (81) "And Allâh will
establish and make apparent the truth by His Words, however much the Mujrimûn
(criminals, disbelievers, polytheists, sinners) may hate it." (82)
Al_Isra (17: 81-82)

Surah Al-Isra

And say: "Truth (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism or this Qur'ân or Jihâd against polytheists)
has come and Bâtil (falsehood, i.e. Satan or polytheism) has vanished. Surely! Bâtil
is ever bound to vanish." (81) And We send down of the Qur'ân that which is a
healing and a mercy to those who believe (in Islâmic Monotheism and act on it),
and it increases the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers) nothing but loss. (82)
SURA TAHA (CHAPTER 20: 65-70) Surah Ta-Ha
They said:"O Mûsa (Moses)! Either you throw first or we be the first to throw?"
(65) [Mûsa (Moses)] said: "Nay, throw you (first)!" Then behold, their ropes and
their sticks, by their magic, appeared to him as though they moved fast. (66) So
Mûsa (Moses) conceived fear in himself. (67) We (Allâh) said: "Fear not! Surely,
you will have the upper hand. (68) "And throw that which is in your right hand! It
will swallow up that which they have made. That which they have made is only a
magician's trick, and the magician will never be successful, to whatever amount (of
skill) he may attain." (69) So the magicians fell down prostrate. They said: "We
believe in the Lord of Hârûn (Aaron) and Mûsa (Moses)." (70)
Al Mumenoon (23:115-118)

Surah Al-Mumenoon
"Did you think that We had created you in play (without any purpose), and that you
would not be brought back to Us?" (115) So Exalted is Allâh, the True King, Lâ ilâha
illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Lord of the Supreme
Throne! (116) And whoever invokes (or worships), besides Allâh, any other ilâh
(god), of whom he has no proof, then his reckoning is only with his Lord. Surely!
Al-Kâfirûn (the disbelievers in Allâh and in the Oneness of Allâh, polytheists, pagans,
idolaters) will not be successful (117) And say (O Muhammad SAW): "My Lord!
Forgive and have mercy, for You are the Best of those who show mercy!" (118)
As Saaffat (37: 1-10) and Lord of every point of the sun's risings. (5) Verily! We have adorned the near
heaven with the stars (for beauty).[] (6) And to guard against every rebellious devil.
(7) They cannot listen to the higher group (angels) for they are pelted from every
side. (8) Outcast, and theirs is a constant (or painful) torment. (9) Except such as
snatch away something by stealing and they are pursued by a flaming fire of
piercing brightness. (10)

Surah As-Saaffat
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By those (angels) ranged in ranks (or rows). (1) By those (angels) who drive the
clouds in a good way. (2) By those (angels) who bring the Book and the Qur'ân
from Allâh to mankind [Tafsir Ibn Kathîr]. (3) Verily your Ilâh (God) is indeed One
(i.e. Allâh); (4) Lord of the heavens and of the earth, and all that is between them,
Surah Al-Ahqaf (46: 29-32) And (remember) when We sent towards you (Muhammad SAW) a group
(three to ten persons) of the jinn, (quietly) listening to the Qur'ân, when
they stood in the presence thereof, they said: "Listen in silence!" And when
it was finished, they returned to their people, as warners. (29) They said:
"O our people! Verily! We have heard a Book (this Qur'ân) sent down after
Mûsa (Moses), confirming what came before it, it guides to the truth and to
a Straight Path (i.e. Islâm). (30) O our people! Respond (with obedience) to
Allâh's Caller (i.e. Allâh's Messenger Muhammad SAW), and believe in him
(i.e. believe in that which Muhammad SAW has brought from Allâh and
follow him). He (Allâh) will forgive you of your sins, and will save you from
a painful torment (i.e. Hell-fire)[]. (31) And whosoever does not respond to
Allâh's Caller, he cannot escape on earth, and there will be no Auliyâ' (lord,
helpers, supporters, protectors) for him besides Allâh (from Allâh's
Punishment). Those are in manifest error. (32)
Surah Ar-Rahman (55: 33-36)

O assembly of jinn and men! If you have power to pass beyond the zones of the
heavens and the earth, then pass beyond (them)! But you will never be able to pass
them, except with authority (from Allâh)! (33) Then which of the Blessings of your
Lord will you both (jinn and men) deny? (34) There will be sent against you both,
smokeless flames of fire and (molten) brass, and you will not be able to defend
yourselves. (35) Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinn and
men) deny? (36)
Surah Al-Hashr (59:21-24) Had We sent down this Qur'ân on a mountain, you would surely have seen it
humbling itself and rendt asunder by the fear of Allâh. Such are the parables which
We put forward to mankind that they may reflect[]. (21) He is Allâh, beside Whom
Lâ ilâha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He) the All-Knower of
the unseen and the seen. He is the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. (22) He is
Allâh beside Whom is Lâ ilâha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but
He) the King, the Holy, the One Free from all defects, the Giver of security, the
Watcher over His creatures, the All-Mighty, the Compeller, the Supreme. Glory be
to Allâh! (High is He) above all that they associate as partners with Him. (23) He is
Allâh, the Creator, the Inventor of all things, the Bestower of forms. To Him belong
the Best Names[] . All that is in the heavens and the earth glorify Him. And He is
the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. (24)
Surah Al-Jinn (72:1-9) Say (O Muhammad SAW): "It has been revealed to me that a group (from three to
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful ten in number) of jinn[] listened (to this Qur'ân). They said: 'Verily! We have heard
a wonderful Recitation (this Qur'ân)! (1) 'It guides to the Right Path, and we have
believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allâh).
(2) 'And He, exalted is the Majesty of our Lord, has taken neither a wife, nor a son
(or offspring or children).[] (3) 'And that the foolish among us [i.e. Iblîs (Satan) or
the polytheists amongst the jinn] used to utter against Allâh that which was an
enormity is falsehood. (4) 'And verily, we thought that men and jinn would not utter
a lie against Allâh. (5) 'And verily, there were men among mankind who took shelter
with the males among the jinn, but they (jinn) increased them (mankind) in sin and
transgression. (6) 'And they thought as you thought, that Allâh will not send any
Messenger (to mankind or jinn). (7) 'And we have sought to reach the heaven; but
found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. (8) 'And verily, we used to sit
there in stations, to (steal) a hearing, but any who listens now will find a flaming
fire watching him in ambush. (9)
