DATA MINE SOFTWARE MODEL

 MINESIGHT SOFTWARE:
MINESIGHT was originally
developed by Mintec, founded by Mine Planning Engineer Fred
Benfield, based in Tuscan Arizona. It grew to be a leading Mine
Planning solution covering all aspects of geology and mine planning.
In its early days it built strong relationships with the consulting
industry in North and South America. While a versatile tool, it had a
strong reputation in the areas of stratified and seam type deposits and

11/12/2022 Page 9
for providing specialized solutions for projects with complex
modelling and planning requirements
Minesight answers all your mining needs. Whether underground or
surface, from precious to base metals, for coal, tar sands and
industrial minerals, Minesight tackles all geomodeling mining
applications. And, thanks to its extensive set of applications, it
handles all levels of geology, engineering, surveying, and mine
operations.”

 WHITTLE SOFTWARE:
Whittle is a suite of mine optimization
and strategic mine planning products developed by Jeff Whittle from
1984. The Whittle Software business listed in 2000 and was acquired
by Gemcom Software in 2001.
 HISTORY:
Jeff and Ruth Whittle established the Whittle
Programming Company in Melbourne, Victoria in 1984, focusing on
mine optimization software and its application to strategic mine
planning. Using his expertise in Nuclear Physics and Mathematics,
Jeff developed the Whittle 3D pit optimization product based on the
Lerchs Grossman algorithm. Whittle 3D was released in 1985,
revolutionizing the optimization of surface mines around the world.

11/12/2022 Page 10
Whittle 3D determined, with mathematical precision, the optimal
shape for an open pit mine, and could show the point at which it was
more economical to precede to an underground mine.
In 1987 Whittle 4D was released incorporating time, risk and
optimizing around NPV. It allowed sensitivity analysis for long term
planning. Whittle 4D won the Australian Technology Association
Software Product of the year award and was accepted into the
Permanent Collection of the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney
Australia.
Whittle 4D produced a nested set of 40 – 100 optimal pits based on
potential economic scenarios. The user could investigate an enormous
variety of cut-off, scheduling, scaling and timing options within a
financial analysis framework. Whittle aided in the design of
pushbacks, wall slopes and the surface versus underground mining
decision.
 WHITTLE SOFTWARE USED FOR:
Whittle delivers trusted
results and is used in scoping, feasibility, life-of-mine scheduling, and
in the ongoing re-evaluation of mine plans throughout the production
phase.

 SORPAC SOFTWARE:
The SORPAC company was founded by
Geoff Bebb in 1982 when it began developing Sorpac. The focus of
the product was on mine surveying, resulting in early strength in data
editing and volume calculations. Mine Surveyors have a strong
technical role in Australia and the expanding range of technical tools,
and early cmd macros empowered users in the automation of day to
day production activities, including the production and plotting of
sections and grade control. Direct editing of on screen data and
flexible handling of files made the system intuitive to use, helping it
gain in popularity as a production tool.
 SORPAC SOFTWARE USED FOR:
SORPAC software is the
most widely used software system of its kind in the world, supporting
open pit and underground mining operations and exploration projects
in more than 120 countries. Sorpac enables mining practitioners to
quantify and evaluate mineral deposits and to plan the efficient
extraction of reserves.

 LEAP FROG SOFTWARE:

LEAPFROG software is a geology
modeling product developed by ARANZ (Applied Research
Associates NZ Limited) a research organization formed in 1995 in
Christchurch, New Zealand.
Leapfrog’s reputation as a powerful geology modeling tool has
grown quickly with strong positive feedback from senior
geologists across the globe. It has a reputation for being easy-to-
use and a potent modelling tool for a wide range of geology
scenarios.
Leapfrog uses FastRBF™ (Radial Basis Functions) to create a
‘minimum energy surface’ through data points in 3D, which results
in potent and rapid Geology modeling for ‘noisy’ data that consists

11/12/2022 Page 13
of many points with potential for large distances between data
points through the model.

LEAP FROG SOFTARE

 LEAP FROG SOFTWARE USED FOR:

Leapfrog is 3D geological
modeling software for mining, exploration, groundwater
contamination, and geothermal energy. The tool aids understanding of
geology to reduce associated risk.
