KB (E3) (Cat.-No. 9120-0069, 9020-0071, 9020-0073 9020-0075 and 9020-0077)

Cooled Incubators are mainly used for incubation tasks below room temperature or in cases where high
ambient temperatures cannot be excluded. The patented DCT® cooling system, in conjunction with the
APT.Line temperature technology, creates the ideal prerequisites for highly accurate and constant
temperature conditions. The enormous cooling capacity allows a final temperature of approx. –9.9°C.For
the KB it is possible to reach as maximum 99.9°C and lowest –9.9°C

2 Function
The Heating System of the KB (E3)
The Chambers Type KB can reach a maximum temperature of 99.9°C. This can be reached at an ambient
temperature of ≤ 20°C. The temperature is measured by a PT100 temperature probe which is placed in
front of the fan.

The controller RD2.1 measures the resistant of the PT100 and compares it with the set-point in the
controller.
Now the controller decides to give a signal for heating or not at the 230Volt output.

The cooling system of the KB (E3)

The KB chambers can reach as lowest temperature –9.9°C. This can be reached by an ambient
temperature of ≤ 20°C. The temperature is measured by a PT100 temperature probe which is placed in
front of the fan.

The controller RD3 measures the resistant of the PT100 and compares it with the set-point in the

The PT100 temperature probe is equipped with 3 cables, two red and one white cable.
The cables are connected like diagram printed on the transformer on the RD3 board.
For Example: at 37°C the resistance of the PT100 must be 114,380 Ω.
To measure the resistance, remove all three cables and measure between the white and one of the red
cables.

Measure the PT100 between the white (1)
and one of the red (2 + 3) cables. Don’t
messure between the red cables.

Programming functions

The program controller RD3 allows programming of temperature cycles. For each program
section also the fan speed can be regulated.
Two programs with up to 10 sections each or one program with up to 20 sections can be
entered

Note: When changing from 2 programs to 1 program or vice-versa, existing programs are deleted!
The maximum program duration can be set to 99 hs 59 min or to 999 hs 59 min
This adjustment must done in the user level.

Standard operation.

If no program is active the chamber works in manual mode

to change the set point press .

The chamber shows SP Temperature and you can adjust Set point with buttons

to confirm the new setting, press again. SP FAN SPEED occurs and you can adjust the fan speed
from 0 – 100 %

After pressing once again SP SAFETY CONTR. appears and you can adjust the limit for the safety
controller.
