The aim of this project is:

Students are able to distinguish the process of cold & hot water system, sewage
treatment system, mechanical ventilation system, air conditioning system and solid
waste management system in building services engineering
Topic and case study coverage:

1. Cold Water Supply System (Any types of building excluding residential)


2. Hot Water Supply System (Hotel building, resort or any types of commercial building)
3. Sewage Treatment System
4. Mechanical Ventilation System (Sport Hall, Highrise building or Hypermarket Building)
5. Air Conditioning System (Any types of commercial or hotel building)
6. Solid Waste Management System (Waste Delivery System or Disposal System)

TASK 1
Each group is required to find A CASE STUDY and prepare a comprehensive academic report based on the
awarded/chosen building services topic. The report shall reflect the content of your presentation. The content of the
report shall include/touch the following heading:

i. Introduction of the building services system (Based on topic) – 10%


ii. Background of case study – 10%
iii. Types of the system – 10%
iv. Installation and/or components of the system – 20% + 5%
v. Operation of the systems – 20% + 5%
vi. Conclusion – 10%
vii. References (Minimum of 8 references) – 10%
The format for hardcopy report shall stick to the following requirement: (10 marks for format)

 Quality type : Colour Printed


 Font / Size : Times New Roman / 12
 No. of Page : Not more than 50
 Language : Strictly English

TASK 2
Each group is required to make a 15-20 minutes oral presentation covering the topic of the project. Presentation is
expected to be informative, fun and active. Short videos are allowed to be inserted in presentation slide. The vital
requirement is everyone in the group shall take part in the presentation session.

Other Requirement:

Each group is given strictly maximum 20 minutes to present their slide including 5 min for Q&A. Student must
wear proper attire during the presentation and used only English as the medium of language for Q&A session. ALL
group members must take part during presentation. Otherwise marks will be deducted.

The Submission:

Submission of hardcopy and softcopy of Report and Presentation Slide will be as follow: On

Week 13 (please refer UiTM Academic Calendar)

Any late submission (without appropriate justification) will be penalized. Every 1-hour late submission, 5 marks will
be deducted. Your progress will be monitored every week or upon request. Plagiarisms are strictly not allowed.
References should be properly declared and cited properly. (Please refer to Harvard referencing format).
