Mechanics Draft Revision 2
GUIDELINES:
1. The poster slogan must illustrate, interpret and emphasize the theme.
2. The participants can use Filipino or English in creating their slogan.
3. The participants are only allowed to use 8 pieces of crayola in making their masterpiece.
4. The participants must provide their own materials except for the 1/8 illustration board.
5. The participants will be given 1 hour and 15 minutes to finish their work.
6. The poster slogan must be done in free hand.
7. The participants shall declare that the entry is their original artwork deisgn.
8. The decision of judges is final and irrevocable.
Guidelines:
1. The conduct of the contest is per section. There will be three winners in each section.
2. All winners will compete for the championship on the day of the culminating activity as
representatives of their own section.
3. Every student needs to provide their own 3x3 Rubik’s cube. No alterations are permitted.
Mechanics for Each Section:
1. The participants will solve the Rubik’s cube one-by-one.
2. The facilitator will scramble the Rubik’s cube after each participant. They will have the
same scrambled pattern.
3. The participants will be given 20 seconds to inspect and analyze the scrambled Rubik’s
cube once it is revealed.
4. After inspecting, the participant must set the timer before beginning the timer.
Subsequently, in order to halt the timer, the players must stop the timer and raise their
hands.
5. The facilitator will keep track of the time and the top 3 students with the least amount of
recorded time will be the winners.
6. In the event of a tie, competitors must solve another pattern with 15 seconds of
inspection. The winner of the tiebreaker will be the player who solves the Rubik’s cube in
the smallest amount of time.
7. The mechanics for the championship, participants will only be given 10 seconds to
inspect and analyze the scrambled Rubik's cube and also 10 seconds of inspection in
case of a tiebreaker. And the facilitator will keep track of the time and assign a ranking to
the top 3 students according to their recorded time.
VI. CHESS
General Guidelines:
1. The conduct of the contest is per section.
2. There will be three winners in each section. And the winners for each section will
compete to the championship round on the said date.
3. All players are playing as individuals.
4. Each player must provide their own chess board.
Mechanics:
1. The game will follow the general rules and movements in chess.
2. The goal in chess is delivering a checkmate-trapping your opponent's king.
3. The game ends when one side's king piece is "Checkmated".
4. Matches will be held with a ten (10) Minutes limit on completion. If the match is not
completed within the ten (10) Minutes limit, the winner will be decided off of points
captured. Point values are given to each piece as it is captured.
5. After declaring the winners from each section, the winners of each section will compete
to conclude the overall champion.
VII. SUDOKU
General Guidelines:
1. Each section will conduct their own elimination.
2. There will be 3 winners in each section. And the winners for each section will proceed for
the championship round on the said date.
3. All players are playing as individuals.
4. The puzzle will be provided by the officials.
Mechanics:
1. Contenders will solve a 9x9 sudoku puzzle with 3 columns and 3 rows.
2. Each column and row has numbers 1-9.
3. They must fill in all the missing numbers in the box with no repeated numbers in each
line.
4. The fastest contender that will finish the puzzle with the correct answers will be declared
as the winner of the game.
Announcement and Awarding will be on the last day of the Mathematics Festival before the
closing remarks.
VII. AWARDS
A medal and certificate of recognition will be given to the winners of the Games and Activities.
Runners-up will also receive a certificate of recognition for participating and appreciation.
