The line graph gives information about the global consumption of oil, coal, natural

gas, hydropower, and other renewable resources. Billion metric tons is used to
measure units.

Overall, it can be clearly seem that there has been an increase in the pattern of
resource consumption over the period. However, fossil fuels had higher
consumption levels in comparison to of hydropower and other renewable energy
sources.

On the one hand, oil, coal and natural gas consumption followed the same
pattern, however consumption of oil and coal rose sharply which started the
period by approximately 1.5 billion metric tons, whereas rose to more or less 4
billion metric tons. Similarly, natural gas consumption increased dramatically from
just over 0.5 billion metric tons to about 3 billion metric tons.

On the other hand, there were no significant changes in hydro and other
renewable energy sources. Over a 69-year period, hydro increased slightly about
0.7 billion tons while other renewable energy remained stable before slightly
increasing in 1999 and end at just under 0.5 billion tons.
