B273/ Bug fix CE im- Improved the touchscreen functionality to avoid cases of
B274 age multiple touch registrations.

B269/ Bug fix CE im- Enhanced WatchDog functionality to ensure that the appli-
B226 age cation is always restarted even if the operator panel has
“frozen”.

Bug fix CE im- Touchscreen on E1061/E1063 improved performance and re-

age liability.

Bug fix System Corrected problem with running the operator panel continu-
program ously for more than 24 days without power break and also
fixed the same problem for the repeated coming period of
48 days after that.

Bug fix BDTP Changed default datatype for BDTP network service devices
to make sure they are interpreted as 16-bit devices.

Bug fix Trend An issue with incorrect file naming when performing trend
backup backups retrievals through FTP has been corrected. The
problem was that the index in the file name was reset to 0
only if the hour the backup was performed was different
from the hour the previous backup was performed. If the
backups were performed with 24 hour periodicity, the index
was increased every time. A new condition has been added
where the index is also reset if the day, month or year differs
between 2 consecutive backups.

Bug fix Profibus Corrected problem that made the project in the operator
DP exp. panel not booting up correct when using a Profibus DP ex-
module pansion module.

Bug fix Drivers Corrected problem during project download which in some
combinations of drivers and operator panel models could
cause a crash, if the driver took too long time to shutdown.

Bug fix Screen Corrected issue with toggle-macros reseting the screensaver
saver timer, which could result in failure to enter screensaver
mode.

prevents that LEDs are turned off if PIC resets.

1.52 B209/ Bug fix CE im- Fixed clock drifting when rebooting.
B214 age

1.52 B211/ Bug fix Alarms The information symbol (“i”) that indicates that the alarm is
B211 connected to an alarm information block did not appear in
the alarm block in key panels.

The panel would reboot when having 2500 alarms.

Date/ Daylight saving was sometimes not triggered if the panel was
Time not running (power off) when the daylight saving occurred
(last Sunday in March). The panel would not compensate
with an extra hour when it was powered on.

When using the controller clock instead of the panel’s built-

in clock the daylight saving would not work.

E-mail If the first row in a text block started with a period character
(“.”), the e-mail would be empty.

AUTH PLAIN was handled incorrectly according to RFC2595

when using operator panel as SMTP client.

Graphics The cursor on key panels disappeared when there were a lot
of objects on the screen with values changing fast.

Internal When using the internal variables M8196 or M8197 as a dy-

Vari- namic visible signal, the text objects would flicker rapidly in
ables the block, making the operator panel slow.

sion OpSys Feature tion

1.52 B211/ Bug fix Memory Loading an operator panel project in portrait mode from a
B211 Card memory card would turn the project into landscape mode.

The time stamp for the trend backup directory name would
sometimes be incorrect when using the clock in Controller 1
or Controller 2 instead of the panel’s built-in clock.

If recipe directories were not enabled in the project, it was

not possible to save recipes to memory card.

Recipes Using PLC controlled recipes of length 1 would sometimes

cause the operator panel to terminate.

Transfer The No Protocol Mode Control Block register was not upload-
ed when receiving a project from the panel.

The Recipe Control Block register was not uploaded when re-
ceiving a project from the panel.

Port 20 was not used as data port when using Active FTP.

Downloading dynamic bitmaps to the operator panel would

eventually fill the memory and cause the panel to reboot.

Feature Alarms The ABIDPC command makes it possible to use the dynamic
text color property for the alarm banner object. If ABIDPC is
used, the alarm banner will not inherit the foreground color
of the alarm group as its text color.

Since alarm group texts using Chinese characters may over-

lap each other in the alarm block, the AGDW (Alarm Group
Double Width) command has been implemented.

The ALF2 command will enable a filter function in the alarm

block with 3 different statuses:
ACTIVE (Active unacknowledged, Active acknowledged and
Inactive acknowledged)
HISTORY (Inactive acknowledged)
ALL
Note: The command is not supported for E1032.

The USAFTP command makes it possible to display national

characters correctly in the alarm file when uploading it via
FTP, or when using the ABUP command.

No Pro- The NPMUSB command enables support of No protocol mode

tocol together with a barcode reader on the USB connection. See
Mode the No Protocol Mode section in the E-Designer reference
manual for details.

1.52 B211/ Feature Simula- The E1000 simulator can be started with the command
B211 tor switch -D, to restrain the temporary folder used by the sim-
ulator from being deleted after the closing the simulator.
It is also possible to include a path to a folder after the com-
mand switch, for example -D “C:\Project\Test”, for the sim-
ulator to use the specified folder instead of the temporary
one.
Example: “C:\Program Files\E-Designer\E-Designer\Pan-
els\Opsim.exe” -T “E1070” -P “C:\Project\Test\Project.dat”
-D “C:\Project\Test”
The example above will perform the following steps:
1. The simulator is started
2. The operator panel model E1070 is opened
3. The project file “Project.dat” is loaded
4. The folder “C:\Project\Test” is used to store all the
project files
It will then be possible to save offline recipe files in the sim-
ulator (in the example above, the path to the recipe files
will be C:\Project\Test\DATA\RECIPES\). The recipe files will
still be available next time the simulator is started because
of the -D command switch.
Note: The -D command switch will not be used when the
simulator is started from within E-Designer and that the op-
erator panel model used when starting the simulator must
match the panel used in the project file (the .dat project
file).

VNC The VNCTx and VNCAx commands simplifies timer handling

Viewer when using VNC.
The VNCTx (VNC Timeout) command, where x represents an
analog (word) device, will be treated as minutes.
The VNCAx (VNC Active) command, where x represents a
digital (bit) device, reads actual status if VNC session is ac-
tive.
Example: VNCTd34, value in word device d34 =30, 30 min-
utes of no activity from the VNC Remote User will reset the
VNC session and release the port for another VNC session.
VNCAm45, if active VNC session, m45 device will be set (read
function). This function can be used to activate a symbol
and/or text object.

1.50 B174/ Bug fix Alarms Running projects with extremely large alarm lists made the
B170 panel crash.

Commu- Data exchange from a serially connected controller to a

nication ModBus Master which was temporarily disconnected made
the panel crash.

When running the data exchange feature over BDTP, there

was a possibility that the wrong values could be written to
devices while the server was disconnected.

Graphi- The special characters button on the touch panels was not
cal working correctly.

Modifying the system alarm block lead to some graphical er-

rors.

The cursor blinking around a frameless analog/ASCII object

was erasing parts of another frameless analog/ASCII object
if both analog/ASCII objects were fitted tightly together.

If a static text was placed on a flat or raised rectangular but-

ton, the text would be covered by the button after the but-
ton had been pressed.

There were graphical errors in the key field if the last two
keys in a block implied a block jump and the key field in the
new block had two lines.

The key delay time was not working correctly. The cursor
moved forward very fast regardless of what the delay time
was set to.

Memory When using the DBAF command, it was impossible to save/

card load recipe/project from/to the external memory card.

sion OpSys Feature tion

1.50 B174/ Bug fix Modems If a modem connection was used on the same COM port as a
B170 COMLI driver, the panel could freeze. Also some unwanted
behavior were noticed during download when using such a
combination.

It was not possible to dial out from an operator panel when

transparent mode and a modem were configured on the
same COM port.

There were problems when dialing out with modems which

do not support spaces in the AT command strings.

It was not possible to download a project to the panel when

it was connected to a GSM modem.

Under some circumstances, a panel with a modem connec-

tion stopped dialing out. It was possible to establish a dial-
in connection but the panel never dialed out again.

No prot. Control registers were not updated properly when using no

mode protocol mode.

Objects Editing of ASCII objects in keyboard panels did not work cor-
rectly, especially when exchanging a character in the middle
of the string.

Disabling the key repeat functionality was not working cor-

rectly.

Editing of analog numeric values in 16/32 bit seconds format

did not work correctly. For example, the “:” was not avail-
able for editing on a touch panel keyboard.

The “out of range” message for analog objects displayed in

the seconds data type was not shown in a time format.

Printing With DeskJet and LaserJet Printers, the panel ignored the
page length setting. If you change the value to e.g. 50 or 70
the panel would still print 60 lines.

Recipes Under certain circumstances, appending recipes did not

work correctly: certain devices would contain the value 0 in-
stead of the correct value.

In HMI Tools file transfer, the recipe folders were not pre-
sented.

“Blank” characters in ASCII strings could be overwritten with

“garbage” characters if the recipe was edited externally,
and if the number of characters was not equal to the origi-
nal.

1.50 B174/ Bug fix Text When a large amount of devices from a heavily loaded con-
B170 blocks troller were connected to text blocks, and the text blocks
were printed or sent in an e-mail, the operator panel would
sometimes reboot.

It was not possible to read the BDTP error message in a text

block for an E1032 panel.

The last letter in a text block in E1032 was not shown.

Some national characters such as ü, å, ä and ö were not

properly printed when used in text blocks.

Transfer Dynamic bitmaps in the image folder were erased after a

project transfer.

It was not possible to connect to the panel with FTP in pas-

sive mode.

Trends In some configurations, data in trends were lost when power

to the panel was lost.

The dynamic scaling functionality for trends did not work

correctly when the newly calculated y-axis coordinates con-
tained more or less decimals than the previous ones.

When using the trend history functionality, it was possible to

step into the future; a time stamp for which there was no
logged trend value.

1.50 1.5.3 Bug fix VNC There was no recommendation on how to keep the password
Viewer secret when entering a password in Remote Access Viewer
for a VNC connection.

When connecting with VNC to an operator panel, a large cur-

sor was activated. It did not disappear until the panel was
rebooted.

Keyboard input in Remote Access Viewer for touch panels

did not work correctly during a VNC connection.

The key field for E1032 in VNC Viewer was misplaced a little
bit to the left.

The “-” and “.” keys did not work for key panels in VNC.

VNC did not recognize the E1000 Pro+ panels as known pan-
els.

sion OpSys Feature tion

1.50 B174/ Feature New Support of firmware version 1.5 for new E1060, E1061, E1062
B170 models and E1063 models with TFT display. The new models require
version 1.5 or higher.

Alarms Alarms can be saved to an external USB memory stick, as a

backup copy, via ABUP command or via function/touch keys.

The maximum recommended alarm list size is increased

from 10 to 50 kB.

Commu- In a BDTP network a client hangs for 20 s every time a server

nication is taken offline for some reason. This time may now be short-
ened since the BDTP timeout may be set through the BTIMx
command, where x represents the desired timeout.

A new command PSCE is added to enable calculation of the

project size which may then be displayed on the Diagnostic
page and the info.txt file in FTP. Note that using the PSCE
command may affect the performance during FTP connec-
tion and extend the time it takes to show the Diagnostic
page.

The internal variables M8196 and M8197 are used to indicate

the status of communication for driver 1 and driver 2.

Dynamic addressing of station number when changing TCP/

IP address in the panel.

Memory It is possible to load an application/recover an empty panel

card from a memory card directly from the Welcome page.

Opera- The auto data entry pattern usually searches for the next ob-
tor input ject to be filled in a block in the x - direction. With the ADEY
command, the pattern searches in the y- direction instead.

When using the automatic login functionality, the user had

to press the block jump key twice; once before entering the
password for the block, once after entering the password.
Now, the firmware automatically jumps to the block once
the correct password entered.

Printing Improved print out handling when using printers with PCL3
and PCL5c support. See Reference manual or help file for
recommended printers and other important information.

1.50 B174/ Feature Recipes The default length for recipe names and registers was in-
B170 creased from 8 characters to 32 characters. To avoid com-
patibility issues with old controller applications where the
recipe names and registers were saved as 8 characters, the
SCRR command is now available to reduce the number of al-
lowed characters in recipe names and registers to 8.

When saving a recipe, existing recipes are displayed in a list,

and it is possible to select a particular recipe to overwrite,
or to type in a new recipe name.

Trends A new message “Saving trends to external memory” has

been added to inform the operator of the duration of the
saving task and explain why the panel is freezing during this
time.

1.50 1.5.3 Feature VNC VNC Viewer with support for new E1060, E1061, E1062 and
Viewer E1063 models with TFT display.

The command VNCx where x represents a digital device al-

lows the operator to disconnect a VNC session by setting the
device x in the controller.

1.31 B136/- Bug fix: Under some circumstances, applications with a lot of trends,
alarms or recipes could be erased when cycling the power.

1.31 B136/- Bug fix: The touch screen could register a touch without any activations.

OpSys Function

1.30 B108/- Bug fix: E1032: In text blocks, function keys that were connected to I/O
functions (such as Set, Reset, Sets Analog, Sets Analog
Object to etc.) did not work at all. However, function keys that
were connected to Jump to Block, Other Functions and Macros
worked without any problems.

In some cases, when adding 2 or more alarm groups, one alarm

group would not fit in the alarm block. Scroll buttons did not
appear so it was not possible to scroll between the different
alarm groups. If a third “dummy” alarm group was added to the
project then the scroll buttons appeared.

If an operator opened e.g. an alpha numeric keyboard and the

logout signal was set in the controller, the operator panel was
to logout when the keyboard was closed, but this never hap-
pened.

When the touch keyboard was displayed, the operator panel

would sometimes hang and also reboot. It seemed that if a block
change was made, pressing for example an object that required
login could make the panel hang.

When trend files were uploaded from the operator panel to the
PC, the files did not always contain all values. When this oc-
curred the number “-1” was written on the last row of each col-
umn.

When the page length was set to “0”, a form feed was made af-
ter only one line printed. According to the manual, the panel
should not make a printout until the entire paper is filled up.
Note: This problem is fixed only for serial printers. It is not pos-
sible to solve the problem for network and USB printers.

1.30 B108/- Function: Support for saving and deleting projects to/from external mem-
ory card (Compact Flash memory card or USB Flash drive).

Macros can be triggered from a digital signal.

Full Unicode support for ASCII objects (by selection in object

properties).

The backup folder of the external memory card (including

project files, recipes and trend data) can be accessed remotely
via FTP.

A USB flash drive can be used as authorization key. To avoid hav-

ing to remember a password, the operator can connect a USB
flash drive that gives access to a certain security level. The
password should be saved as a txt file named “password.txt”.

It is possible to transfer MELSEC FX (serial) controller program

and parameters to and from a USB Flash drive. Other MELSEC
drivers may also eventually support USB Flash drive transfer.
Please see the driver documentation to verify this.

OpSys Function

1.20 B86/B89 Bug fix: When gradients on objects were used, the block update rate
was much slower.

When three alarms of which two were unacknowledged and not

active and one unacknowledged and active, and the second
alarm in the alarm list was acknowledged and removed from the
alarm list, the active alarm was also removed from the alarm
list.

When the BDTP client was enabled in a panel, and a value of a

register in a connected controller was to be either decremented
or incremented (using a function key or a touch key), this would
not work. For example, when the value was increased to 20, and
decreased to 15 again, the value -5 was shown in the register.

When an alarm was defined with a dynamic object inserted in

the first position of the alarm text, the dynamic text/value was
shown as an @-sign in the alarm text when the alarm was trig-
gered.

Function: Support for 32 characters in recipe directories and recipe

names.

Left/right scroll buttons added for alarm groups in the touch

panels.

Built-in application memory expanded from 4 MB to 12 MB.

The pop-up keyboard is positioned not to cover the selected ob-

ject.

Improved graphical handling. With blocks that take more than 1

second to load, the block will be saved as a screen shot, and the
next time you jump to this block, it will be loaded much faster.

Support for six new panels: E1032, E1041, E1043, E1061, E1063
and E1060.

OpSys Function

1.11 B64/ Bug fix: When a speedometer is placed close to the border of the block
B73.1.6 it could in some cases lead to that the panel hangs.

If a Windows CE pop-up window was displayed in the operator

panel and the screen saver was activated, it could not be deac-
tivated. The panel had to be rebooted.

The operator panel ignored the CTS/RTS when printing.

Problem with the operator panel displaying @ characters in-

stead of text is corrected with a work-around.

When changing the scale division on the speedometer dynami-

cally the operator panel crashed. This happened when you
wrote a value higher than the default value of the object.

Siemens S7 MPI Direct could not communicate with some newer

versions of Siemens S7-400 controllers.

A problem in version 1.10 reported by one customer: The oper-

ator panel could in some cases loose the project when powering
down/up multiple times. This problem did not appear in normal
use of the operator panel.

IP routing is now working when using a PPP connection.

OpSys Function

1.10 B53/B73 Bug fix: Login time out → time was not reset when an object was ma-
neuvered.

Sometimes the screen saver was not deactivated when maneu-

vering the panel.

Macros on the extended keyboard E-Key16 containing set, reset,

increase, decrease, set analog did not work.

The Off flag was written wrong in the trend file during power
failures.

Loading a controller-saved recipe to another start register than

the one stated in the recipe file did not work.

The gateway address on an Ethernet TCP/IP connection was only

set if the IP-address was changed at the same time.

Internal variables in current level reg. rebooted the panel.

If a BDTP client project was transferred to an operator panel via

USB/CF card, all the device address field were empty.

If a recipe with start register D1000 was saved, it was not pos-
sible to load the recipe into start register D2000. It was only pos-
sible to load the recipe to the same start register as when the
recipe was saved.

If a trend object was used (only storing changed values) and you
e.g. cycled the power or made a project download, then the last
sample (with the OFF-flag) was given the same sample time as
the sample before it. This could cause big gaps in the trend (if
the value does not change often).

Function: Backlight fault detection turned off. This function in not yet im-
plemented in the hardware and the function has therefore been
turned off in the software. The operator panel now acts like the
command DBKL was used (DBKL is now the default setting).

Version control of image version (Win CE) by the system pro-

gram. The system program will check and make sure that the re-
quired version of the image in the operator panel is installed
when a new version of the system program is installed. If the im-
age version is not sufficient for that version of the system pro-
gram, an error message will be displayed.

Support for ASCII objects in alarm texts.

Support for the Allen-Bradley ControlLogix Ethernet, Allen-Bra-

dley DH485 and Generic Profibus DP drivers.
Note: These drivers requires E-Designer of version 7.10 and the
image that contains E1000 of version 1.10 in the operator panel.

Support for the Expansion Module Fieldbus / Profibus DP.

Using the PDxxxxxx command gave “System Error Unicode”.

Gateway address was only accepted if the IP-address was

changed at the same time.

If the FTP delimiter TAB or comma was used in the recipe file,
it was not attached in the e-mail.

The controller clock for controller 2 did not work.

Transparent mode did not work for TCP/IP connection 2.

Index on a touch- or function key did not work.

If both a backlight signal (the signal was on) and the screen sav-
er were used (by mistake), then it was not possible to turn the
screen saver off in the operator panel.

Function: Touch key mode momentary does not reset signal at block
change.

Symbol is not displayed if the characters Øæåäö are used in the

filename.

1.01 B56/- Bug fix: The BDTP client did not always start up correctly.

Function: Support for Receive project.

Support for Remote viewer. The external program Remote Ac-
