3. Violent crime is one of the most serious problem in big cities.

What are
the causes of this problem? How could it be tackled?

Nowadays, the number of brutal criminals has been rising remarkably in major
cities, causing fear and insecurity for the citizens. This essay will look at some
key factors that trigger the phenomenon and propose several measures to solve
it.
To begin with, one of the primary reasons for violent behavior is illegal
substance addiction, for instance, heroin and drugs. These substances give users
not only the feeling of happiness and satisfaction but also hallucination and
delusion, making them unable to control their deeds. As a result, they are much
more likely to get involved in physical conflicts. The solution is for the
government to tighten drug laws to reduce the number of drug addicts in
society.
Another reason is psychological problems. According to several pieces of
research, mental health illnesses may cause aggressiveness and violence in
patients, especially ones that do not receive proper treatments. Some typical
examples are depression, personality disorder, and bipolar disorder. It is
obvious that mental health issues are pretty common but have not been taken
seriously enough. Thus, the way forward could be to make people more aware
of this problem by educating students at schools and holding campaigns at
businesses. Hopefully, citizens would know when they are unwell mentally and
see a doctor promptly.
The third cause that is worth mentioning is upbringing. The fact that family and
parenting tremendously affect a person’s personality is undeniable. Therefore,
the ones who grow up in chaotic families, where parents are hostile and abusive,
have more tendency to act alike in the future. To tackle this matter, society and
the authorities need to pay greater attention to the children’s life condition by
periodically examining the quality of parenting and increasing child social
welfare.
In conclusion, violent offense has become a worrying phenomenon in
significant towns due to drug addiction and mental illnesses. However, solutions
such as imposing stricter laws on illegal substances and raising people’s
awareness of psychological problems can alleviate the problems to some extent.
