The General Bus Stand (GBS) was established in 1962 and nominal development work has been done in the past. Owing to this, the facilities, infrastructure and general works require complete overhaul for better service delivery to the public. Master plan for comprehensive development of the entire land parcel currently utilized by GBS along with allied facilities and road infrastructure has been developed against an estimated cost of Rs. 9.8 billion. The development will be done in a phased manner so as to reduce disturbance in service delivery. 2. The Administrator, MCL has requested that special permission’ approval may be accorded for inclusion of the afore-mentioned scheme in ADP 2023-24 with cost of Rs. 9.800 billion along with provision of funds amounting to Rs. 4.824 billion for phase-| to initiate tendering process and to execute the scheme at the earliest. In view of the above, approval of the Chief Minister, Punjab is solicited to place the scheme titled “Revamping of General Bus Stand Badami Bagh Lahore” before the Standing Committee of Cabinet on Finance and Development (SCCFD) for its consideration/ approval to include the instant scheme in ADP 2023-24 with cost of Rs, 9.800 illion and provision of funds amounting to Rs. 4.824 billion for execution of scope of phase-I, during current financial year 2023-24. 4 Proposal contained at para 3/ante is submitted for approval, please. The Summary has been examined and it is observed that the General Bus Stand (GBS) was established in 1962 and it caters over 70,000 passengers on daily basis moving to and from 192 locations across the province. But so far no substantial development work has been undertaken at GBS. The LG &CD Department has initiated a proposal for inclusion of scheme 1d "Revamping of General Bus Stand Badami Bagh Lahore” in ADP 2023-24 with estimated cost of Rs. 9.8 lion along with provision of funds amounting to Rs. 4.824 billion for Phase-I. 7. In view of the above, it is proposed that Phase-t of the project amounting to Rs.4.824 billion may be placed before SCCFD for consideration. As far as financial arrangement is concerned, it is recommended that 50% cost of the subject project may be financed by MCL from its own resources and remaining 50% may be provided by Finance Department as loan to the MCL.
