Respiratory epithelium consist of 5 cells

1-cilliated columnar cells

‫ بتزق االجسام الغرٌبه برا وبٌكون فٌها‬Most abundant

basal bodies of centrioles‫كتٌر و‬mitochondria

2-mucous goblet cells

‫ تزقها لبرا‬cilia ‫ وال‬dust particle ‫ ببٌلزق علٌه‬mucous ‫بتطلع‬

3-brush cells

‫ ومن تحت عامله‬Columnar cells has microvili not cilia

‫ عشان كدا بتشتغل ك‬sensory nerves ‫مع‬communication
receptor of sneezing

4-basal cell

‫ وبتعمل‬granular ‫ ودي‬lumen ‫دي قاعده تحت ومش بتوصل لل‬

respiratory cells ‫ ٌعنً بٌتصنع منها‬stem cell ‫ك‬

5- small granular cell

There is 3 types of cells in olfactory epith.

1-sensory (olfactory) cells

‫ واحد بٌششتغل ك‬processes 2 ‫ ٌعنً لٌها‬Bipolar cell

‫ مستوى االنوٌه فٌها بٌن االنوٌه بتاعت ال‬axon ‫ والتانً ك‬dendrite
‫ المهم ان ال‬Sustentacular Cells & Basal Cells

olfactory ‫ دٌه بتطلع لحد السطح وهى اللى بتجٌب ال‬dendrite

sensation

2-Sustentacular (supporting) cell

‫ لكنها‬columnar cell ‫عادٌه لكن لما بصوا علٌها لقوها‬cell ‫دي ال‬
junctional complex ‫ وفً حاجه بتمٌزها اسمها‬narrow base
sensory cells‫ دول بالـ‬Supporting cells ‫بتمسك ال‬

‫ وهى المسئوله عن اللون األصفر ل‬yellow pigment ‫وكمان فٌها‬

olfactory mucosa ‫ال‬

3-Basal Cells

Pyramidal cell as stem cell to produce

supporting and sensory cell

lamina propria ً‫ ف‬olfactory mucosa ‫تحت ال‬

bowman's ‫ اسمها‬Gland ‫ فٌها‬Dense c.t ‫هً عباره عن‬

Serous Fluid ‫ ودٌه بتفرز‬gland

●Paranasal sinuses

bones of face ‫ودي موجوده فً ال‬

‫ بتعمل التهابات فً الجٌوب االنفٌه ساعات‬para nasal sinus ‫ال‬

‫ مش بتشتغل كوٌس فبٌجمع‬cilia ‫الواحد بٌتعرض لدور برد ال‬
sinus‫ كتٌر فبٌقفل ال‬secretion

●Nasopharynx

Oral part of the ‫ اللى هو ال‬oropharynx ‫ وتحتٌه‬nose ‫ورا ال‬

Pharynx

pharynx‫واول جزء من ال‬

It is covered by respiratory epith

mucous glands and ‫ وبٌكون فٌها‬lamina propita ‫ال‬

pharyngeal tonsils and 2 openings of Eustachian
tubes to each middle ear

●Larynx

Functions : Prevent entrance of food and water

inside trachea And production of voice

Lining epith. is the respiratory epith. except

‫ ودول‬Anterior surface of epiglottis and vocal cord
stratified squamous epithelium ‫بٌبقو‬

support for larynx ‫عشان ٌعمل‬Laryngeal cartilage ‫فٌها‬

and to keep it opened
