Thank you for your interest in accreditation and continuous improvement. It is our pleasure to provide
you with details for your continued orientation and next steps to become a Candidate for Cognia
Accreditation.

For support in your personal journey towards accreditation, we encourage you to reach out to your
Regional Director, ____________, at _____________ or by phone at ______________.

The next step in the Performance Accreditation process is to host a successful Candidacy Review. The
purpose of the review is to determine the institution's readiness for accreditation through a validation of
the institution's completed diagnostics and examination of its practices in relation to the Cognia
Performance Standards and Assurances. By assessing the institution’s readiness, a determination can be
made regarding its capacity to meet the standards and assurances.

NEXT STEPS: The Candidacy Review

To prepare for the Candidacy Review, please:

 Complete the Candidacy Workbook (attached) with your Leadership Team. The Candidacy
Workbook provides all the information you need to complete your self-assessment of your
capacity to meet the Cognia Performance Standards.
 Submit your Candidacy Diagnostics in myJourney:
 Log into myJourney™, go to the Diagnostics module, and “start” the following
diagnostics:
 Executive Summary diagnostic.
 Schools and Systems Candidacy diagnostic.
 July 2022-June 2023 Assurances diagnostic for your institution type.
o Transfer the work from your Candidacy Workbook to the related Candidacy diagnostics.
 Notify your Regional Director at the email address provided above of the completed and
submitted diagnostics.
 Schedule work with your Cognia Regional Director to schedule the Candidacy Review.
o Candidacy Reviews may be held onsite or remotely as decided between your school
leadership team and your Regional Director.
o For additional information regarding the Candidacy Review, please see Appendix 5: The
Candidacy Review located in the Candidacy Workbook.
 Finalize the review schedule and host the Candidacy Review.
 Pay your Candidacy Review fee. The cost of the Candidacy Review is $1000.00 plus additional
expenses for the Lead Evaluator, such as travel and/or food expenses, if applicable. The invoice
for the Candidacy Review will be emailed to you once the Candidacy Review has been
completed.
