► If you work in functions of the business which are quite
different, complete two or more versions of your CV. The
proposal preparer will chose the relevant CV for an
engagement
► For professional experience gained outside EY please do not
mention any other accounting/consulting firms. For other
company experience, use generic references only e.g.,
Fortune 500 Oil Company.
► Do not include EY client names in this CV
► Detail your technical work ahead of any thought leadership or
training performed. If possible, use hyperlinks to relevant
articles published.
► Do not use ‘client confidential information’ (CCI) in
describing your team’s experience or your own work
without client consent. Examples of CCI include specific
numbers or percentages of benefits achieved or other
details about the client’s operations or business not
already in the public domain.
► Use full sentences and give the full picture of the work
performed, and if relevant, the outcome of the work
► Do no not use passive tense [we were instructed by…].
Instead, use active verbs such as managed, assisted,
supported, analysed, assessed
► Use singular verbs with entities rather than plural
(“Management/ EY is…”, “The company was”…; not
“EY/Management were….”)
► When writing numbers, write zero to nine in words and 10+ as
numbers
► Ensure that all acronyms are written in full in the first instance
with the acronym following in brackets i.e., Fraud
Investigation and Dispute Services (FIDS) then use the
abbreviation thereafter
► In accordance with the Global writing guidelines please avoid
using the following words: expert, expertise, specialist,
specialized, world-class. Alternatives could include:
seasoned, experienced, knowledgeable, subject-matter
resource
► If you are a partner, please use the title ‘Partner’ in
conjunction (at least the first time the title is mentioned)
with the name of the legal entity of which you are a
partner e.g., ‘Ernst & Young LLP’
