ABSTRACT
Abstract: It emphasises that Shariat is the basis for the spiritual
path, and Tariqah is the method of drawing closer to God.
Hakekat reflects the obsession with the absolute existence of
God, while Makrifat is the deep knowledge through the heart of
spiritual realities. The position of tariqah, shariat makrifat and
hakekat in Sufism is that they are interrelated stages of spiritual
evolution. Sharia provides the moral and ethical foundation for
Sufism practitioners, tariqah provides the method or path to
achieve spiritual realisation, hakekat is the direct experience of
Divine reality, and makrifat is the pinnacle of spiritual
understanding. In the practice of Sufism, individuals start by
obeying religious laws (shariat), then develop spiritual
understanding through practice and self-control (tarekat).
Through dedication and deep spiritual experience, they can
reach the level of makrifat where they have deep insight into
God. The culmination of this spiritual journey is hakekat, where
the individual experiences union with God. The relationship
between Shariat, Tariqah, Hakekat and Makrifat is likened to
the structure of a coconut, each of which has an important role
to play in the spiritual journey, and the existence of one without
the other has no true meaning. In Sufism, this structure is
likened to the layers of a coconut: shariat as the outer shell for
spreading the religion, tariqah as the shell that protects and
connects to the essence, and hakekat as the meat of the
coconut that holds the secret of spiritual immortality. Makrifat is
an eternal oil that comes after a certain process. It is important
that the essence without the shariat is void, and the shariat
without the essence has no true meaning. Thus, the whole
structure is complementary and inseparable.

BAB I
PENDAHULUAN
A. LATAR BELAKANG
Tasawuf atau yang juga disebut oleh kaum
orientalis sebagai sufisme merupakan ilmu tentang
ketuhanan. Sedangkan dalam terminologi Islam, tasawuf
diartikan sebagai ilmu yang membahas tentang cara
mendekatkan diri kepada Allah dengan sedekat-dekatnya.
Tasawuf bertujuan untuk memperoleh hubungan
langsung seorang hamba dengan Tuhannya. Tasawuf
merupakan salah satu aspek penting dalam Islam,
sekaligus sebagai perwujudan dari ihsan yang menyadari
adanya hubungan langsung antara hamba dan
Tuhannya.1
Tasawuf pada awalnya merupakan gerakan zuhud
(menjauhi hal duniawi) dalam Islam, pada
perkembangannya melahirkan tradisi Mistisme Islam.
Tarekat sering dihubungkan dengan Syiah , Sunni, dan
cabang Islam lainnya, atau kombinasi dari beberapa
tradisi. Pemikiran Sufi Muncul pada abad ke-8 di Timur
Tengah, sekarang tradisi ini sudah terbesar ke seluruh
belahan dunia.2
