Deep Work Routine To Get TOP

GRADES!

This is a routine I follow that helps me get into deep

focus such that I can focus for multiple hours, whether
that is studying for medical school or making videos.

It's simple and you can follow alongside me.

If you see some stuff that doesn't suit you, feel free to
change as long as you follow the framework and the
general concept for each block.

Before DW

● Make bed
● Clean desk
● Get rid of any external distractions such as phones
or controllers
● Fill up water bottle
● 2 minutes stretching
● Set up any equipment I will need such as cables,
● mouse, headphones etc.
● Set up music (depending on my mood I will use
ambiences, lofi or classical)
● Set up deep work timer (I do 50 mins with 10 mins
rest)
● Simple journaling (outline how you are feeling, what
do you need to get done, how will you get them
done by breaking them down into steps)
● Get rid of internal distractions using website
blockers
● Open up work materials
● Begin

During DW - Work

● Distraction journal (this is where all the random

ideas that pop in your head when you work will go
to for you to review later)
● Tick any tasks you have done to feel accomplished
and continue further

During DW - Rest
● Refill water bottle
● Stretch around
● Eat a quick snack to refill energy
● DO NOT CHECK SOCIAL MEDIA OR ANYTHING
THAT WILL DISTRACT YOU - STARE AT THE
WALL WITH YOUR THOUGHTS IF NECESSARY

*This is 1 cycle of deep work - repeat as many times as

necessary

After DW

● Cross out every task you have done

● Close all tabs
● Add your score to your deep work tracker
● Post-DW journal (this is where you will outline how
you felt during your DW, what felt good and what
could have been improved)
● Tidy up your study environment
● Say to yourself "I am done with work for today"
● Say to yourself "I am proud of myself"
● Say to yourself "I can now relax"

It looks like a lot of steps but trust me each of them are

important for setting up the mood, tricking your brain and
ensuring you have the most efficient deep work time
without any distractions.

As you do more deep work sessions, this will slowly

become a habit and you can skip some steps because
your brain will put you in focus mode immediately.

Remember to always improve and become the best

version of yourself.

Hope this helps you become Straight Up Better!
