Book review

This book is about two Somalian boys who fled their country because of civil war and settled in

a refugee camp in Kenya, Dadaab. Although they stay with their foster mom, the adopted

brothers never stopped looking for their real mother, who, they heard, had died in Somalia. Life

is extremely difficult for Omar;his brother suffers from constant seizures and has a speaking

disability.

He got an oppurtunity to study in a school,but kept on debating with himself. Should he grab this

once in a time chance, or should he take care of his brother?Later on Omar gets another
opportunity for his family to go the United States to permanently settle down there, but will he

actually go, or stay in Dadaab his whole life?

Slide 5:

The book is actually in a comic book form,with colorful pictures with speech bubbles. Its gives

an insight about how other people have went through constant suffering, yet are grateful for

everything they have.I enjoy reading this book because it uses simple language, which makes it

easier to read, and because of the illustrations.But, I would say this book is fit for 8-9 years old,

nevertheless any age group is sure to enjoy reading it. If you enjoy books that have a lot of

pictures and less text to read, this is the perfect book for you.
