Mushrooming of old age homes

Parents are the most beautiful creation the God has chosen for us in this world.
Don’t leave them, remember they left everything, sacrificed their desires to make
and see us where we are right now.

Fascinated by developed nations lifestyle, myriad opportunities with attractive

salaries and medical benefits to prosper in life, many youngsters prefer migration
than staying with their parents; leaving parents to either take care of self or with
relatives. One of the prime reason this OAHs emergence is mostly because of the
Non-residents (NRs) who had no choice but to leave their parents under the care of
others.

What is senior citizen housing?

Senior citizens need more specific attention and care at the place where they live.
Therefore, the concept of senior living suits them better than traditional
apartments. Senior citizen properties also typically come with some features that
make it suitable for people in the higher age group

Government schemes:

AISCCON: All India Senior Citizen’s Confederation the All-India Senior Citizens’
Confederation (AISCCON) is a national level organization of senior citizens with
affiliate federation members and individual members numbering more than 22
lakhs in various states and union territories of the country. The State Government is
providing maintenance grant for the Old Age Homes run by the Voluntary
Organisations, to safeguard the life of destitute elders in the age group of 60 years
and above and, who are homeless and abandoned by their families. Food, shelter,
clothing, health care and recreational facilities etc., are provided in these homes to
these beneficiaries

Through his victory at the 2007 Canadian National Weightlifting Championships,

Harold Ballard taught us that age is just a number and that perseverance and
dedication lead to success. He overcame his diagnosis of Parkinson's disease and
dedicated his success to his wife, who was battling cancer at the time,
demonstrating the power of family and commitment in the face of adversity.

the oldest female powerlifter in the world at the age of 86, showing that age is just
a number when it comes to strength, durability, and determination.

How Can Elderly Be Helped to Live with Dignity in Old Age?
All we can try to do is to help the elderly live with dignity in their old age. If you
have difficulties in handling their needs because of work constraints or other
personal matters, you can look at the option of elder care home services.
LOOK AT THE OPTION OF OUTSIDE HELP

There is no need to feel guilty if you do not have the time to give your parents the
care and time they deserve. It makes more sense to find home assistance for the
elderly so that they are well taken care of in your absence or as an alternate you
can enrol them at an old age home . If you find it difficult to handle their needs,
you should look at old age care at home options where train home attendants can
take care of them

LOCATE A SUPPORT GROUP

Taking care of the elderly around the clock while juggling other responsibilities
can be quite frustrating and draining for the caregiver.

It is best to find the right professional solutions for elderly home care instead of
letting them fend for themselves.

US Social Security
Old age people can receive the US Social Security retirement benefits as early as
age of 62. However, they can be entitled to full benefits when they reach their full
retirement age. If they delay taking their benefits from their full retirement age up
to age 70, the benefit amount will increase.
If old and people start receiving benefits early, the benefits are reduced a small
percentage for each month before their full retirement age. To find out how much
the benefit will be reduced if you begin receiving benefits from age 62 up to their
full retirement age
Advantages and Disadvantages of US Social security

retirement age. It is important to remember:
If they delay the benefits until after full retirement age would decrease.

Grants from the government

 The Government of India is implementing various schemes and programmes

to provide healthy, happy empowered dignified and self-reliant life to senior

QUESTIONNAIRE
CONCLUSION
Khushwant Singh talked about his grandmother about how important was she
in his life similar to that of how the elderly or rather the more experienced
community in our vicinity have a big impact on our upbringing or even the
small daily habits which get inculcated in us due to them play an important
role in our future lives. Unfortunately though, the increase in mushrooming of
old age homes has been evident to the fact that children do not want to stay
with their parents anymore. Although in some cases old age homes may be
useful, example, where the parents have lost their children or are of non
resident of the country and are forced to stay there. For such reasons many
old age homes have been set up and are actively being funded by the
government. Apart from these old age homes the senior citizens have also
formed communities amongst themselves to keep themselves busy. While
some choose to while away their time in such old age homes and
communities, others, or the more ambitious groups decides to defy their limits
and learn the saying "Age is just a number" by heart. People like Colonel
Sanders are a living example to this saying or else who would have thought
that a 60 year old person would be the "fast food chain king" for the coming
so many years to come? But there also exists a saying "one in a million".
Many aspirations of the elderly are cut short due to many reasons. For such
people, the government has started many schemes so as to support them in
their hardships such as the PMVYY and IGNOAPS.

All in all, I would convey the message to everyone who has a parent that,
Cherish Them, Value them, at least while they are it matters how it is
