RESOURCE ESTIMATION PROJECT
GET06102: Geological Modeling
Submission Wednesday – 11th January, 2023

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Maximum 30 pages, Hard copy only.
2. Penalty for late submission is 1% per day
3. The report will contribute 20% of your overall course weight

1. Question
Provide a consulting report to determine a resource estimation for the project provided.
Include any screenshots, tables or charts that you feel relevant. Provide any assumptions,
accountability, justification, a summary and recommendations based on your report.
You are provided with project dataset files and a geologist’s description of the deposit.
2. Description
You have been given dataset from a drilling program undertaken by a junior exploration
company on a project they call “LATO” deposit. The deposit has been extensively drilled
over a number of years.
Geologists have determined that the deposit has more gold than copper. The average size of
this deposit is yet to be known. A 0.2 g/t cut-off of gold has been requested for the primary
resource estimation based upon market price and future potential mining factors.
The majority of the drill hole core intervals are sampled based on mineralized zone at an
interval of 2 m. All samples were sent for assay at a certified assay lab under strict QA/QC
procedures. The lithology of the area includes soil, sandstone, siltstone, breccia, and basalt.
The mineralization is divided into upper and lower zones, which are formed by siltstone and
breccia, respectively. There are major faults that bound the mineralization on both the north
and south sides. The geological mapping was conducted and the shape of the mineralization
is as shown on the north-south section 5985 of the image.
