in the functioning of the units, and allows you to control and monitor the

The LG air conditioning was installed in November. Luckily for those living
on this idyllic island, the climate in St. Lucia is fairly constant throughout the
year, so there is no big temperature difference between different times of

installed the hotel reports that there is a 33.5% cost saving between
February 2015, before the equipment was installed and February 2016 –

The Humber Bridge
One of the most spectacular structures in the whole of the UK,
the Humber Bridge is a 2,220m single span suspension bridge.
It contains a surprisingly complex infrastructure that is primarily
housed in the two towers.
Its Maintenance Manager, John Williams, explains, ‘These
substations contain a plethora of mechanical and electrical
plant and machinery’. Within these areas there is a need for
fire detection and Beverley based Fire Protection Supplies has
used its expertise to provide solutions to the Humber Bridge
over a number of years. Trevor Campbell, the company’s
Director, states, ‘John contacted us to discuss upgrading
the fire detection control panels and graphics system at
the Humber Bridge, which involved installing industry leading ZX products and the innovative Visualeyez Graphics Workstation from Morley-IAS by
Honeywell.’
Seven panels were replaced overall and these are sited in a variety of locations including the administration offices, where a central control room that
contains all the servers and IT related technology is used to ensure that everything is running smoothly. Here the ZX5Se panels were installed, while at
the other plant areas across the Humber Bridge saw a combination of ZX1Se and ZX2Se products used. The panels have been configured to report back

Rinnai, manufacturer of the energy efficient range of

The legislative environment governing the smoke control and fire safety
industry is, unsurprisingly, complex, far-reaching and absolutely vital to
ensure that these systems not only operate faultlessly when they’re needed,
but also provide effective safety protection and allow people to escape.
Even so, you would probably be surprised by the number of construction
companies that contact us after they have completed a block of apartments
and find that Building Control has rejected the structure due to the omission
of a smoke ventilation system, which is required by law for any residential
building of 3 storeys and above.
Clearly, there’s no suggestion that designers, specifiers and building
companies are brazenly flouting the regulations, but it is apparent that the
main issue is ignorance of the complex and essential regulatory framework
that governs this sector. But, as is often quoted, “Ignorance is no defence.”
Navigating the maze - Building Regulations Approved Document B, The
Machinery Directive and The Construction Product Regulations, via the
various parts of the European EN12101 standard, provide a tight and far-
reaching regulatory framework. Yet, this is only part of the story.
The Smoke Control Association’s (SCA) ‘Guidance on Smoke Control to
common escape routes in apartment buildings’ quickly became the default
reference document for many designers, installers and approving authorities
throughout the UK, when first published in 2012 and has since been updated
with even more key information. Alongside this, BS 9991:2015, which covers ‘Fire
safety in the design, management and use of residential buildings - code of
practice’ is also a vital reference when addressing fire safety specification and
requirements.
However, if you’re seeking a signpost to provide an effective route to
achieving compliance, then, arguably, the best start point is the BS7346
– Part 8 Code of Practice. Prior to this, no single document existed that
provided guidance for the industry from initial design, through installation to
maintenance. The core benefit of BS7346-8 is that by adhering to its guidelines;
designers, installers, commissioning engineers and maintenance teams can
create, install and operate a fully compliant smoke control system.
Clearly, providing any definitive guidance in the space available is impossible,
but as the penalties for non-compliance are punitive and can involve
imprisonment, it is always advisable to seek professional specialised input
from organisations such as SE Controls, that work with the regulations on
a daily basis. The main things to remember is that you have obligations for
safety, design and construction, which cannot be avoided.

Wrightstyle also helped to transform the media centre for
the 2004 Olympics and Paralympics in Athens, supplying over
41,000 m2 of steel glazing systems to create Golden Hall,
now one of Greece’s foremost retail centres. The company,
which is a European leader in the design, fabrication and
supply of advanced steel and aluminium glazing systems, was
also a supplier to the 2012 London main stadium and the
adjacent ArcelorMittal Orbit, the 114.5 metre tall sculpture
and observation tower.
Pyroguard supplied Pyroguard T-EI60/25-3 VI for the project,
a double-glazed fire resistant glass specifically designed for
use in steel profiles. The solution provides an hour
of integrity and insulation from fire and optionally

additional performance characteristics such as solar
control, thermal insulation, sound reduction, or attack
protection.
The Here East project was complicated by the need
to accommodate sloping head screens and, due
to the size of the building, significant vertical and
lateral movement. Wrightstyle’s design solution
was to incorporate a specially-welded anti-racking
configuration with bespoke brackets.
“Here East is all about transformative legacy planning –
a hugely imaginative project to create jobs, encourage
creative entrepreneurship, and foster further
education,” said Lee Coates, Wrightstyle’s technical
director. “Our advanced glazing systems allow ambient
light to flood through the building, removing the more
traditional internal walls that the designers saw as
being barriers to networking and collaboration,” he
said.
“The building-height internal atrium uses steel-framed
curtain walling with Pyroguard fire glass. On the ground
floor, there is a subtle continuation of the stunning
‘dazzle camouflage’ frit pattern that wraps around the
facade of the building, whilst upper floors mix in black
spandrel panels. This project demonstrates that the
use of fire rated glazing does not require compromise
in terms of design or performance,” said Simon Ellison,
UK Head of Project Sales at Pyroguard. “The result is
a transformational project that will further rejuvenate
the east of London, become a destination for other

The design of CentroSoranzo was a collaboration between
architects, artists, graphic designers, psychologist and
psychiatrists. Their collective objective was to place
natural beauty as a key element of therapeutic care, with
careful use of space, shape, colour and décor to make the
centre a welcoming environment.
Architects Sara Carbonera and Marta Baretti of Arbau
Studio wanted a design that would emphasise this feel and
not be seen as a clinical environment. Buildings have been
built in pine to match the woodland setting, with extensive
use of glazing to maximise the natural light coming into
the pavilions.
The main pavilion features an outdoor terrace and the
building is designed so that outside and inside blend
together under an asymmetrical, overhanging roof. The
eight metre glazed facade that looks out onto the terrace
is not perpendicular to the building’s perimeter walls,
being angled instead to strengthen the view and enlarge
the terrace area for a dynamic blend of interior and
exterior.

To support this effect, the architects wanted a door
opening that would appear invisible, to encourage free
movement of residents in and out of the pavilion. After
looking at options available on the market, Sara and Marta
fell in love with the possibilities offered by the Imago Lift &
Slide system and incorporated Imago into their design.
“The fact that we could minimise the frame width meant
we could fit even more glass into the area, so that guests
can feel the benefits of being at one with nature even
when they’re inside,” explains Marta Baretti.
Two Imago doors are in use in the main pavilion, which
slide together and meet behind another pane of glass.
This provides two exit and entrance points, further
enhancing the effect of freedom that the architects
wanted.
“The asymmetrical design of the building presented a
challenge in how best to incorporate the Lift & Slide
door into the overall shape of the glazed area, which is
split into several different geometric shapes. Happily,
the Imago hardware is so versatile and easy to use that
the installation of the door was a smooth process,” says
Marta.
Given the simplicity of the Imago system in terms of
design, installation and use, Marta and Sara were quick
to add Imago windows elsewhere in the centre, including
high-usage areas such as the canteen.

life. The guests love having the ease and freedom to step
outside as part of their therapy – but thanks to Imago,

Metal Technology Rises To The
Education Challenge
Sitting on the grounds of Bruntsfield House, a Grade A-listed
building, sympathetic design, which respected the past but looked
to the future was an essential part of the design of the 1,150-pupil
James Gillespie High School in Edinburgh. To achieve that in the
design and construction of the series of inspirational buildings, JM
Architects specified a suite of systems from leading architectural
aluminium manufacturer, Metal Technology.
The scheme incorporates System 17 curtain walling in both standard
cap and T-shaped cap variants, used in conjunction with [THERMAL]

Bona White is a new wood floor primer designed to
produce an on-trend bleached look when used in
conjunction with a Bona polyurethane lacquer. The

HD lacquer. The works were part of a complete
renovation of a Victorian town house in Bath and
were carried out by Bona Certified Contractor, TWF
Bath Ltd, who specialise in the restoration and
fitting of traditional wood floors. Before treatment,
the TWF team filled large gaps using reclaimed
pine wedges and then sanded the floor to 100 grit
abrasives.
Smaller gaps were filled using Bona Mix & Fill,
which is mixed with sanding dust from the floor to
ensure the filled areas blend in with the rest of the
surface. The floor was then sanded using 120 grit
abrasives before the application of the first coat of
Bona White. The floor was then abraded using a
Bona Scrad Pad to remove any grain raising from the
surface before the application of the second coat.

enough for a person to walk over, rather than
traditional methods where subfloors need a
substantial amount of time to fully dry. Air
channels in the matting allow the subfloor
rafts to continue to dry out in a controlled
way by preventing the top layer of the screed
drying quicker than the bottom. This slow
drying period leads to a stronger subfloor.

kitchen area to provide additional protection
to the Astro Grey Marble tiles, and was
supplied and colour matched to Grout 3000
Light Grey. The colour match enabled a
seamless finish for the surface tiling. Micro
Joint Infill has been specially developed for
tiled flooring installations which are laid over
underfloor heating systems, particularly
for residential developments. It provides
effective movement protection for tiles and
natural stone on heated floors. It means
a tiled flooring installation with Micro Joint
Infill used is able to effectively absorb the
movement energy transferred from the
subfloor, protecting the tiles from cracking
and loosening.
Penrith Tile Centre applied the Micro Joint
Infill into the grout lines in between the
Astro Grey Marble tiles, carefully following
the brick bond tile formation. In the shower
and wet areas within the showhome, Dural’s
WP Durabase Waterproofing Membrane
was used. It is the ideal product for
waterproofing shower areas in preparation
for tile installations.
The Durabase membrane has excellent
sealing properties and enabled a better
adhesion when using the Tilemaster
adhesives. The Tasman natural floor and wall
tiles, supplied by Marshalls, look stunning in
the bathrooms throughout the showhome
and are now protected by the Durabase WP
Waterproofing Membrane.

Aviation Museum
Rebuild Gets ‘The
Bradite Treatment’
Bradite’s 2K Floor and Wall EW99 specialist coating
was recently specified as part of the rebuild of the
Gatwick Aviation Museum. Now run as a charitable
trust, the museum began in 1981 when local
businessman and aircraft enthusiast, Peter Vallance,
transformed a run-down battery farm to house his
growing collection of aircraft, parts, models and
memorabilia.
However, as the collection grew, most of the aircraft
had been stored outside for more than 20 years.
To ensure the heritage of this significant collection,
a new structure has now been built to house a
number of historic aircraft. Demolition of the old
building was carried out, with the rebuild scheduled
for completion within 10 weeks.
For the floor treatment, the application of a high
performance non-slip coating was imperative.
Bradite’s 2K Floor and Wall EW99 was specified.
This two-pack water-thinned, epoxy coating and
finish paint is designed for application to floors,
walls, structural steel and machinery. Delivering a
tough, hard-wearing film, EW99 is easy to clean
and decontaminate, and it can be used with a low-
slip additive for extra performance.
Ashley Colella, the museum’s manager, explains the
progress of the rebuild and Bradite’s contribution:
“First, we applied a thinned base coat of Bradite’s
EW99. Then we applied two coats of EW99 mixed
with aggregate to give us a low slip surface. We
required a total of 385 litres to cover the new loor
area of 1805 square metres.”
An added challenge arose when all aircraft and
engines had to be moved up the entire length of
the museum for arranging and positioning. Despite
some of the engines weighing around 1.5 ton - and
the heaviest aircraft weighing 12 ton - volunteers
and staff were impressed that no damage occurred
to the floor, thus demonstrating EW99’s durability
and wear-resistance.
Resistant to many chemicals and solvents, EW99
inhibits the growth of fungus and bacteria, and
can also be used as an anti-graffiti coating in
common internal areas. As there are no solvent
fumes, no odour and no tainting of food, there
is no discomfort or disruption caused to nearby
operatives; this avoids the costly inconvenience of
shutdowns during application. Safe after use, this
floor paint is certified as class O for surface spread
of flame to BS476.

EW99 delivers a spreading rate of approximately
12 square metres per litre and is surface dry in two
hours, with overcoating possible after a minimum of
16 hours. Complete cure is achieved in six days.
“In the case of the Gatwick Aviation Museum,” says
James Burton, Bradite’s national sales manager,
“When the unit was weather-tight, we met with all
the people of the museum to discuss Bradite EW99
for the floor. Our team then carried out regular
visits to check on the preparation and application of
our products,” James continues. “After three coats
of EW99 were applied to the floor, the airframes
were moved into their new home, ready for the
opening of the museum on 25th March this year.”
For this project, Bradite’s SA12 aggregate was used
in conjunction with EW99 to reinforce the low-slip
finish. This additive, which consists of tough, hard-
wearing particles, is suitable for use with all types
of floor and deck paint to give a low slip surface
in areas of heavy traffic and helps to prevent
accidents on wet floor areas.
With the completion of its new building, the
Gatwick Aviation Museum moves into a new phase.

The international architects BDP have
recently refurbished the floors within
their Bristol office with Mapei’s new
Mapecomfort Floor System. The floors
in the meeting, library and toilet areas
have been covered using Mapecomfort
Floor System AR/X in grey – the first
completed project worldwide using the
system. Originally established in 1961,
BDP have offices worldwide combining
local knowledge with vision, value and
infrastructure of an award winning
practice. The project was undertaken by
Coatech Ltd. who specialise in all types of
resin flooring nationwide.
Initially, carpet and multiple layers of vinyl
tiles were removed exposing the sub base.
A cove was installed to all toilet walls
ensuring that the floor area remains easy
to clean and maintain. Mapecomfort was then laid to the floor and sealed with Mapefloor Pore Filler. Once this had
cured, Coatech applied a coat of Mapei Mapefloor PU 460, a 2-3mm flexible, self-smoothing polyurethane. To finish,
two coats of Mapei Mapefloor Finish 58 W, a matt finish polyurethane coating, was applied.
Due to its elastic properties the Mapei Comfort Floor System proves advantageous when a good level of comfort
is required underfoot. This is provided from the matting at the base of the system which also has excellent
soundproofing capabilities, reducing the impact of noise transmission into areas below. The flooring system also
has a high resistance to wear and abrasion from constant foot traffic and moveable office furniture such as castor

Kemperol
Three roofs of one of Manchester’s most iconic
office buildings have been refurbished with an
overlay of Kemperol liquid membranes from
Membranes Kemper System. Piccadilly Gate is home to various
Government departments including Education,

Piccadilly Station was refurbished in a £25 million

BREAM ‘Excellent’ scheme in 2010. Issues with the
integrity of the roof had continually plagued the
building with leaks, resulting in unsightly staining

Roofing contractor, Castle Roofing, was appointed
to carry out the works and selected Kemper
System’s solvent-free Kemperol 2K-PUR as the
most appropriate solution for the level 10 roof.
Explains Mark Atherton from Castle Roofing: “The
level 10 roof is directly above occupied office
areas and is also the location for the building’s
air handling plant, so nuisance odours could
potentially have been transferred into the office
areas.
“As a result, we chose to use Kemper System’s
2K-PUR system, which is solvent-free and
odourless, while still offering high performance and
a BBA-accredited 25-year service life.”
The level 4 roof is above the building’s record-
breaking extra-long escalators and leaks from
two water outlets had caused staining of the
suspended ceiling. This roof was also refurbished
as an overlay system, using Kemper System’s
Kemperol V210.

Having cleaned and prepared the existing roof
surface, Castle Contractors applied a primer before
applying the resin in a single wet-on-wet process
in which the resin is first applied to the substrate;
reinforcement fleece is then laid directly on to the
wet resin, immediately followed by more resin on
top.
This ensures complete saturation of the
reinforcement fleece. Once cured, the resin forms
a seamless, elastomeric waterproof membrane
that cannot delaminate, is UV stable and bonds
directly to the substrate.
For the green roof on level 3, Castle Roofing
carried out the refurbishment in two sections,
removing half the green roof medium and installing
Kemperol V210 onto to the existing surface as an
overlay before replacing it and lifting the second
section so that the new roofing membrane could
be installed. The second section was then re-

Since the NHBC’s change of policy on mortar fixing
and the revision to BS 5534 forecasts for an increase in
the use of dry ridge, hip and verge systems have, not

Exposed The continued upward trend in roofing-associated claims

has also encouraged use of cheaper roofing accessories
and dry fix products in particular. There seems little doubt
that in the face of a growing market some manufacturers
have been cutting corners to maximise profitability. This
extends to the variations in ridge and hip kit components
for which Klober supplies all that a roofer needs to fix 5
metres of ridge or hip, including hip trays.
One element of a kit that can perpetuate early failure is
the adhesive backing on ridge rolls. If this is to withstand
the effects of severe weather and provide a strong bond
to the surface of a tile the adhesive has to offer the
highest standard of performance. Klober uses Butylon®

immediate weatherproofing and usually needs no primer.

A new British Standard is at the planning stage and we
may be lucky enough to see it published around the turn
of the year. If it is to succeed, we will have to hope that
in-house testing isn’t accepted or we are likely to be
faced with the questionable results seen with underlays
following publication of BS 5534. The only way to avoid
less scrupulous manufacturers claiming like-for-like quality
against materials which are genuinely fit for purpose is to
define and measure objectively material requirements and
performance.
There is often little published technical detail in support
of low cost dry fix systems and a few minutes checking is
well spent as it can do much to reduce the chance of calls
back to site. Products with a proven track record have
achieved it by being universally compatible and yet there
is still a tendency among some tile manufacturers to claim
that long-term performance can only be guaranteed by
using their own dry fix systems. This is despite the fact
that some describe their products as suitable for universal
use!
In practice, specialist roofing accessory manufacturers
with no dependency on selling tiles or slates are more
likely to offer products offering genuine assurance
of performance. To be compatible with a tile profile
manufactured by several companies the scope of testing
undertaken by such manufacturers is likely to have been
both thorough, well documented and, in many cases will
have been done by an independent third party. As a result,
the contractor will find that accessories are more practical
to use and that the ridge, hip and verge systems are easy

Heraklith Roof Board Respecified For
Restoration Of Richard Rogers House
A detailed refurbishment project to conserve an
architecturally significant residential property is making
use of a special composite woodwool board from the
range supplied by Marmox Limited to ensure not just the
integrity of the work, but also the building’s long term
performance.
The house in Wimbledon was originally designed and
built by acclaimed architect, Richard Rogers to serve as
his parents’ home and takes inspiration from some of the
Modern Movement buildings of the early 20th century.
Completed in the late sixties, the property features extensive glazed elevations and a flat roof of minimal depth, where the designer of such iconic
structures as Lloyds insurance offices in the City of London, chose to employ Heraklith woodwool “Roof Board” to help regulate humidity levels within
the occupied space.
Basically the depth of the roof did not provide sufficient space for ventilation and instead Rogers specified the special grade woodwool board to
absorb moisture from the air when humidity levels are high. But then when the air is dry, it will release moisture back into the air. This keeps the room
humidity constant and comfortable, while also reducing the risk of surface condensation which can lead to mould growth. In fact the Roof Board was
manufactured specifically for this project, incorporating timber slats to provide additional strengthen and allow them to sit unsupported above the
ceiling. The refurbishment of the single storey southwest London house has been carried out by Piperhill construction, with the Northern Irish company

fastened system using Sarnafil S327-18EL for the
dry side and an adhered system using Sarnafil
G410-18EL for the more humid area. Both were
specified in Patina Green to blend with the natural
environment. Sarnafil membranes are cold applied
and free from naked flames, the obvious choice for
an open site.”
An innovative temporary terraced platform was
designed and installed, suspended underneath
the main structure by cables and lattice beam
scaffold units. Work was carried out over 16

separate sections, like a wagon wheel – ensuring
the structure was not compromised by uneven load
distribution. This stepped, terraced temporary roof
was then covered with plywood and completely
weathered by Delomac with a Sarnafil membrane.
With the temporary roof in place, existing glazing
and coverings could be safely removed, maintaining
water-tightness with guests enjoying the facilities
below. Scheduled over more than two years, this
way of working resulted in a dry building envelope,
despite some of the wettest weather on record.
Comprehensive vapour barrier measures were used
on the pool side of the building to ensure the high
humidity chlorinated environment was contained.
Robust SFS sealant and Sarnafil metal-lined vapour
barrier detailing at all Glulam beams and fascia
interfaces ensured no risk of condensation.
Sarnafil membrane and accessories were used for
all the coverings, and again overall specification
development was tailored to suit the varying
build-ups; new, overlay, bonded and mechanically
fastened. An increased thickness membrane was
manufactured in one single batch to ensure colour
consistency. Sika added further value with an
impressive 17 visits to the site by the Applications

Court House To A Sumptuous 5* Boutique Hotel
Selectaglaze helped turn an old draughty court house into a warm and peaceful
boutique hotel. Once a building where judges passed sentences and the Police
placed criminals under arrest, a Grade II Listed Magistrates Court and Police Station
on Old Street, has been converted into a 5* boutique hotel.
To transform this Grade II Listed building from a Courthouse
to a hotel, careful consideration had to be given as to how
the thermal performance could be improved as well as
mitigating the ingress of noise from outside.
As the building is Listed, the original primary windows
could not be removed, so Selectaglaze was approached
by the principle contractor McAleer and Rushe to provide
a solution. A total of 106 units were installed including
curved, raked, casement doors and a double-floor feature

buildings; and one of the key features is the wide
variety of balcony types, each governed by unit size
and orientation. With such a demanding specification
involving different balcony types, the minimisation of
any possible thermal bridging problems is crucial.
This is something highlighted in research findings
from the Oxford Institute for Sustainable Development
(OISD) at Oxford Brookes University. It shows that
with increasingly improved airtightness and fabric
U-values in UK buildings, thermal bridge heat losses
are responsible for an increasing percentage of the
overall building heat loss. It is common for thermal
bridges to account for 20% – 30% of the heat loss
in multi-residential units (as calculated by thermal
modelling) and balcony connections can be a major
contributor to the thermal bridge heat loss – if
effective thermal isolation is not included in the

The most visual aspect of the solution is the Timber Fin screening structure
that is located at the centre of the development, accommodating the main
reception, a staircase and circulation areas. At 13 metres in height, the ‘drum’
like structure has a curved footprint that extends out beyond the building’s
glazed curtain walling.
This creates a useful reference point for visitors when locating the main
entrance. Inside the building, the timber fins form balustrading for the
reception area and around circulation areas on first and second floors.
The structure comprises up to seven rows of vertical rectangular-shaped
timber fins, each measuring 185mm wide by 44mm thick, engineered from
untreated Western Red Cedar.
The Fins in each row are set at 250mm centres and are fixed at an angle
that varies by 45 degrees, creating an interesting aesthetic that changes,
depending on your viewpoint. The timber fins are virtually maintenance free
and will be allowed to weather naturally, giving them an attractive silver-grey patina. In addition to the timber fin screening, Levolux also provided its
Ventilation Louvres to screen plantroom areas at high level.

ground floor level by steel windows and doors that,
along with the rest of the structure, had fallen into a

Extensive consultation was undertaken by the Brighton-
based architectural practice with English Heritage (now
Historic England) and Brighton & Hove City Council’s
conservation team for the most acceptable solution
to replace the existing metal framed, single glazed
windows and doors.
“RH Partnership have worked very closely with Crittall
Windows to reproduce the patterns and profiles using
W20 sections and to incorporate double glazed units,”
says architect David Sweeney. “With large areas of
glazing in the front-of-house spaces, the capability
to add slim line double glazed units has drastically
improved the thermal performance of this building.”
Solar control glass has also been added to particular
south and east facing windows so as to reduce
overheating during summertime and natural ventilation
has provided the University with a cultural flagship
structure.
Also on the University campus a second Sir Basil Spence,
Grade 2* listed structure, the Chichester 1 building,
is undergoing refurbishment and, once again, Crittall

Balconies And Balustrade Bridge Project Goes Swimmingly With Marmox

Multiboard
Swimming pools present a notoriously aggressive
environment for building materials including
reinforced concrete, so it is a measure of
Marmox Multiboard’s inherent durability and
other attributes that it has been specified for a
challenging refurbishment contract at a leisure
centre in Peterborough.
The Regional Fitness & Swimming Centre is just
a short walk from Peterborough Cathedral in the
city centre and is popular with families as well
as clubs and schools. Unfortunately, however,
the warm moist conditions had caused areas of
the paintwork around insides of the very large
skylights to peel. High above the water and with
asbestos present in the original lining panels, this
meant a maintenance nightmare.
Main contractor Amey was successful in tendering for the wider project, but brought in Commercial Rope Access with its team of abseillers to
tackle relining the nine rooflights: each of which measures 8.5 x 4.5 metres and is five metres deep. Half-size sheets of Marmox Multiboard,
measuring 1250 x 600 mm, were able to be fixed directly over the top of the existing asbestos based substrate, the Multiboards also offer a
greatly improved thermal performance which will help prevent problems of condensation forming. The boards had been treated with one coat of
EP150 on the reverse side and received a further two coats on the visible face. Marmox Multiboards are manufactured from extruded polystyrene
