Challenge
Recruitment & Retention of Consultants
Recruiting and retaining talented student consultants can be challenging,
especially given the time commitment involved. It may also be difficult to find
individuals with the right skills and dedication to social impact consulting.
Mitigation
Early Outreach: Start recruitment efforts early in the academic year to attract top talent
before the campus competitors.
Clear Value Proposition: Clearly communicate the benefits of joining 180DC, such as skill
development, social impact, and networking opportunities.
Training and Development: Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and opportunities for
personal and professional growth to retain top talent.
Challenge
Client Satisfaction
Ensuring that clients are satisfied with the services provided and that the
consulting projects meet their expectations can be a challenge. Misalignment of
expectations or a lack of clear project scopes can lead to dissatisfaction.
Mitigation
Robust Onboarding: Conduct thorough onboarding sessions with clients to establish clear
project objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
Regular Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with clients throughout the
project, with regular check-ins to address concerns and ensure alignment.
Feedback Loops: Implement feedback mechanisms to gather input from clients during and
after projects to make necessary adjustments.
Challenge
Securing a diverse client portfolio, encompassing nonprofits, social enterprises,
and other impactful organizations, poses a significant challenge, particularly for
recently established branches lacking an established reputation.
Mitigation
Networking: Invest in building a robust network within the local social impact community to
raise awareness of 180DC's services.
Outreach and Marketing: Actively promote the branch's services through various channels,
including social media, university events, and community outreach.
Pro Bono Services: Emphasize the pro bono nature of the services offered, making it an
attractive option for organizations with limited budgets.
Challenge
Ensuring the selection of competent and diligent leadership is crucial for securing
a bright future for our branch. We aim to guarantee the consistent growth of our
organization through high-quality project delivery and the establishment of a
positive work culture within the branch.
Mitigation
Structured Leadership Selection Process: We possess a clear vision of the requirements for each
role of responsibility. Consequently, we've developed a rigorous selection process to assess and
choose a strong core team.
Systematic Handover and Training: We'll dedicate two weeks to ensure a comprehensive branch
handover, systematically guiding the new core members.
Advisory Committee: We're establishing an advisory committee, inviting executive board
members to serve for one year following their term completion.
