Treppner Correspondence Course – Individual Cards Explained – Part 2
At this time I will present all of the cards to you in detail, although one could certainly go
on and on about the thematic cards and their meanings. For the time being, I will limit
myself to the old standards, that way, the beginners will have sufficient learning material.
However, the professionals among you will surely be able to come across a new tip or two.
For each card, there are eight categories for their description:
1. Key Words
The terms most commonly associated with a card will be listed here. The primary meaning
is written in CAPTIAL letters, making it easy to spot.
2. General Description
Here is where you’ll find the description of how a card is mainly used and what you have
to look out for when interpreting it. This is just an overall summary of the card—the many,
smaller intricacies may only be mentioned briefly, as it would take too long to get into all
of them. Also, this way you won’t get too mentally overloaded.

3. Love
ne
This category should be seen as a short question – receiving a quick answer or used for a
daily overview. Sometimes multiple messages are revealed, in which case you have to filter
out what is true. Because most people use the cards to ask about love, I gave this topic a

brief and seperate treatment.
4. Career
This is also only a short description, dealing with possible vocation fields, as this could also

turn into too much of a multilayered section. Again, this can also be used to glean quick
answers or discover your daily oracle in matters relating to work and career.

The main characteristics/qualities of a card will be addressed, so that you can get an idea

what types of people can be referred to when interpreting a particular card.

Under this heading, you will find the classic medical interpretations of the cards, but it is
only to be used as a reference and not to replace a visit to the doctor.
7. Timing Guide
Each card carries a timing factor within it. This will be mentioned only briefly. The usage
and determination of symbols referring to time will be explained later using different
methods.
8. Astrological Correspondence
Astrological signs, Houses, and Planets are discussed briefly and will be dealt with later in
a more detailed way in terms of the engeries and psychology involved.

NO. 1 THE HORSEMAN (The Cavalier/The Rider)
Key Words: NEWS, young man/younger man, means of transport (car,

bicycle etc.), sport, business enterprises, a horse (the animal)
General Description: This card symbolizes movement and

communication. A card where you get moving (in hobbies, spare time,
business), get messages, you talk/converse a lot and are sociable. You
have to pay attention here and there, in which direction the rider is
moving and/or which card the rider is moving away from (the card to the
right)., because that symbolizes a form of stagnation is to be expected.
On the other hand, the card that the rider is moving towards contains a lot
of dynamic energy.
Love: A flirtatious situation is going to take place, it’s also possible for
one to receive a declaration of love.
Career: This relates to everything in the communications field and

sports – if you have applied somewhere, then you will be hired.

Key Words: LUCK and hope, but always fleeting and can change from
one day to the next

General Description: The Clover is always responsible for a moment of

luck; however, this is usually quite short in duration. One is nevertheless

pleased about it, because it can shed light in a dark moment/emergency.
It also signifies the start of short term and spontaneous business ventures.
Love: short term happiness. Sometimes something bigger can develop

out of it, but not necessarily. It’s rather an indication of a flirt.
Career: Call-Center, Sales, Service Industry – unexpected, on-the-job

luck.
Characteristics/Qualities: merry and humorous

Medicine: Recovery from an illness. Tip: eat more food containing iron.

Key Words: TRAVEL (airplane, train, truck, bus), foreign travel,

meetings, business, independence, inheritance, longing/desire
General Description: A journey is the primary message contained

within this card. This could also be a short trip or a longer term trip. At
any rate, it will be memorable. In general, the card is also good for large
business ventures/enterprises.
Love: One is longing for love, and this will be fulfilled if one is patient.
For the short term: a romantic date will go well.
Career: self-employment, management positions, and everything that

has to do with the trade and travel industries – good business is to be
expected.
Characteristics/Qualities: intellectual, slender and eager to travel

General Description: Without a doubt, The House represents one’s own

dwelling and the message is determined by the surrounding cards, which

have an impact on one’s house, oneself and/or one’s family. Regarding

the future—if one is trying to rent or buy a house—this card is the future
home and not one’s current home. It represents the object of desire and
one can determine if this fantasy will become reality.
Love: everything is running stably, cuddle-time is likewise to be

expected or a nice candlelight dinner in a relaxing setting
Career: Craftsman, custodian, housewife, housework - and stability!
Characteristics/Qualities: the calm type, connected to one’s homeland,

ponderous, stay-at-home/domestically-inclined
Medicine: avoid fatty meals, consider raw foods (watch your cholesterol
levels)

NO. 5 THE TREE
Key Words: MEDICINE, illness and health, a longer period, growth, the
process of maturity, growing up
General Description: This card is a bit boring and if you’re reading

cards and are sort of the spontaneous type and this card suddenly
appears; then you know that for this particular inquiry they answer is
going to take a long time to arrive! This card is also a general indicator of
all types of medicine or diseases, especially if negative cards are
combined with it (Example: Scythe, Coffin, Cross, etc.)
Love: an eternal love, but one also learn to practice some patients in
regards to a particular person.
Career: Everything in the medical field – additionally, means that one

may have to wait for a transfer or approval and/or may have to work
harder for it.

Characteristics/Qualities: analytical, but also pessimistic and pedantic
longer lasting illness.

husband, older (more uncomfortable) gentleman, in terms of weather:
rain and storms

General Description: The clouds have a dark and a light side. If the
bright side of the cards is closest to a person card (Lord, Lady, Serpent,
Iri
Bear, Dog, etc.), or an object card (Book, House, etc.) or a thematic card
(Star, Clover, etc.), then it is a signal for the clearing up of ambiguities. If
the dark side of the card is facing the person, object or thematic card,
then it signifies dark times for the person, object or topic. These
problems will clear up, because—as in real life, The Clouds will
dissipate. However, one has to play an active role in this. If The Clouds
are located above a card, then it’s also seen as a negative sign, but there
is no effect when The Clouds are below a card.
Love: not the best time of matters of the heart – not much is going on
Career: Research, science, technology, humanities and philosophy -
additionally, the clouds are responsible for rejection and setbacks on the
job
Characteristics/Qualities: Smoker, social drinker, slope to drugs and
dependency

NO. 7 THE SERPENT (The Snake)
Key Words: WOMAN (sister, friend, female colleague, mother etc.), a

confusing path, a detour, river
General Description: This mostly refers to a woman, who should be

regarded as neutral, only unless the card is paired with The Fox, which
indicates deviousness or a „slippery snake“. In reality, snakes are actually
useful to us in nature. They exterminate parasites and this is the message
imparted by this card. Confusing paths, detours and rivers are symbols –
the curving form of The Serpent. Using this logic, you can also associate
it with garden hoses, sewage drains and pipes of all kinds.
Love: a rivalry is possible, so watch out!
Career: Psychology, esotericism - a woman with important contacts

illness, defect, damage, etc. Otherwise, it stand for a short fright and

it doesn’t last long before everything is good again.
Career: Unemployment or the threat of unemployment, otherwise talent

Key Words: SURPRISE, joyful event, invitation, gift, a nice woman
General Description: one of the most beautiful of the Lenormand cards,

because it’s always good for a positive surprise – there’s no better way to
say it than that.
Love: an exciting rendezvous and romance will occur - an engagement is

just as likely
Career: Job in exhibitions, art exhibits/galleries, fairs/expo - invitation to

an interview or similar goes in one’s favor.
Characteristics/Qualities: friendly and charming, well-maintained

appearance, good taste
Medicine: get involved with alternative medicines and homeopathy. An

NO.11 THE BIRCH (The Birchrod/The Whip)
Key Words: CONVERSATIONS, discussion, controversy, separation,

dance, and sometimes: pairs, a broom and/or cleaning, writing utensils
and signatures
General Description: The Birch is a communication card – something is

going to be discuss and this discussion could get a little heavy.
Sometimes The Birch indicates a separation. Birch and Letter means that
something requires a signature, Birch and Ring signify two contracts,
Birch and Book refer to writing and Birch and Park stand for dancing.
Those are just a few of the different possibilities and combinations.
Love: Discussions about love, hopefully only passionately and not

aggressively
Career: Interpreter and everything within the field of communication -

annoyance on the job can arise; however, perhaps also a signature is

description, because if it’s not referring to a child, then it’s indicating
something new or a new start –as mentioned above.
Love: a new or recent love is coming or a new start with a well-known

children and education. Sometimes indicates a complete change of

you can also assume that a certain thing is very clever to do.

Love: Caution! Deception in love and one has reason to be jealous.
Career: All kinds of independent work - and watch out for harassment
and deviousness on the job
Characteristics/Qualities: gaunt to dry - watch out, that is a Fox!

Depending upon type, either smart/clever or deceptive (usually the latter)

NO. 15 THE BEAR
Key Words: OFFICIAL PERSON: Lawyer, accountant, principal, real

estate broker, entrepreneur or an older person (gender neutral),
possession, power, strength, envy, jealousy
General Description: First and foremost, I regard The Bear as an

official. Only after that isn’t at all applicable to the situation are other
possibilities considered. For example, if The Bear is lying next to The
House, then that signifies either a current or future possession. Together
with The Lord, The Bear can refer to an emotional situation – jealousy,
etc. If none of that applies, then perhaps it stands for a grandmother or
grandfather.
Love: an entrepreneur could become a new or current partner - also The

Bear is a reference to a jealous person or a homewrecker
Career: Entrepreneur, real estate broker, lawyer etc. The Bear is an

indication of your own ability to accomplish things, which is good, if

however, you shouldn’t over-exaggerate this comparison. I’ve often
noticed that some people always try to make such a connection, but this
is rarely the case. Most of the time The Stars should be seen as a lucky
card. I know that everyone wants to be esoteric, spiritual and balanced;
because of this, they always want this card on their side. Of course, this
could also be the meaning, just not all the time!!!
Love: a fresh start in love, this new partner could be a spiritual person
and make for an exciting night
Career: Occupations in the field of esotericism – a complete change of
occupation,self-employment or a total change within a company.
Characteristics/Qualities: Interest in spiritual topics
Medicine: think about converting to a holistic way of life

General Description: There’s also not that much to explain here,

because mostly this is about a noticible change. Pay attention to where
this card occurs. With The House, The Anchor or with The Heart? This
way, you know where and how the change will happen.
Love: a positive change in love
Career: all types of creative jobs are good and it could also indicate an
unusually revolutionary change on the job
Characteristics/Qualities: colorful people, little rebels

Key Words: OFFICE and AUTHORITY, independence, diligence,

isolation, discipline, ambition, boundaries, city limits, also separation

General Description: In proximity to a person, it is an indicator of

independence or bureaucracy. Together with additional cards,e.g. The
Bitch or Bear, it refers to a court case or negotiation. Still with other
cards it stands for school, diligence or isolation. It depends on the
combination, really. Sometimes The Tower shows that a person is lonely
or very diligent, disciplined or ambitious.
Love: a love is lost - a separation is approaching
Career: Self-employment or occupation as a civil servant

wrong company, if The Fox is hanging around. The whole thing could be
a disaster if The Coffin or The Clouds are next to it. The Clouds could
symbolize that an open-air even will be rained out.
Love: You meet your new love in public (small or large event)
Career: all jobs with contact to the public
Characteristics/Qualities: is sociable, public figure

Medicine: Trip to the spa or rehabilitation measures are granted

NO. 21 THE MOUNTAIN
Key Words: BARRIERS, load, obstacles, protective wall, mountains,

animostiy, cold weather, hill, upward, nature
General Description: Like the card says, there will be barriers. One has
to look to see where The Mountain is located in order to see where the
hinderance lies. Sometimes it is a burden to bear and some good could
come out of it. This is especially true in combination with The Mice, who
will move The Mountain if they are next to it. Yes, it’s just that simple
with the cards—even when The Mice are relatively small in comparison
to The Mountain. In some cases, The Mountain can be seen as a
protective barrier – which is good and can often be seen in terms of
traveling to the mountains for holiday.
Love: love is being hindered and will not develop

Career: Mountain climber, shepher, climate researcher etc. – otherwise

Love: one has to choose between two partners or a decision needs to be

made in one’s love life
Career: Part-time jobs – and a decision that works out in your favor
Characteristics/Qualities: decisive
Medicine: veins and arteries in general—a tendency towards varicose
veins.

NO. 23 THE MICE
Key Words: LOSS, thieves, minimization, illness, parasites
General Description: By themselves, The Mice indicate that something

is going to go missing soon, because they are tiny thieves. Sometimes
they predict an illness, and, in rare cases, they stand for a rapid increase –
this is almost never the case, however – only when The Fish (Money) are
lying next to them. The Mice are a good sign, if they are next to negative
cards (Clouds, Coffin, Scythe, Fox, Mountain, etc.), as they cancel out
the negativity. The same thing goes for the positive cards though, e.g.
Heart plus Mice = grief; Ring plus Mice = broken connection, etc.)
Love: lovesickness or the loss of a partnet
Career: Insurance, banks, team leaders - loss of one's job, being

unemployed

first cards to look out for, since one always has a lot of questions

concerning love and romance. Pay attention to the surrounding cards, in

order to draw your conclusions.
Love: the love of your life or love is just around the corner
Career: Independence in all areas - enthusiam about the job and putting
your heart and soul into everything you do
Characteristics/Qualities: the affectionate type

NO. 25 THE RING
Key Words: CONNECTION, contract, marriage, partnership,

association, jewelry, circle
General Description: The Ring is another straightforward card. In most

cases it is seen as a partnership/relationship or a contract – and that’s just
the way that it should be. The Ring in combination with The Book, The
Birch, The Letter, The Anchor, etc. – indicates a business contract.
Together with love, Ring – Book can stand for a secret love. It can also
symbolize something that happens over and over again (in a circle). If a
loved one is away and The Ring is clear of negative cards and surrounded
by positive one, then it means that the person will come back, because
you are still bound to them. The Ring in the card formation belongs to
you.
Love: a partnership or a marriage is arranged

General Description: We’re always on the lookout for secrets to reveal,

but in reality, there’s not that much to find out on a daily basis.

Therefore, secrets should take a secondary role in our train of though.

Actually, The Book can be connected with paper work/things made out
of paper: letters, invoices, balances, scrips, diaries, etc. The next
association is education or contracts. Depending on which cards are
bordering The Book, the message can either be pleasing or depressing. If
the open side of the book is facing the person card, then a secret is going
to be revealed.
Love: secret love (affair) or unknown partner waits for you
Career: Scholarly situation and advanced training are good bet
Characteristics/Qualities: myster-monger, discreet

Medicine: lacking self-confidence, can manifest psychosomatically

Key Words: MESSAGE – email, text message, letter, telephone call,

contact, smoothness, superficiality
General Description: The symbolism of this card speaks for itself. If we

are waiting for a message and want to find out if it is positve or negative,
then we have to pay attention to the cards around it. The Mountain can
block a message, The Mice can destory it altogether.
Love: a love letter
Career: everything within the field of media and communication –

expect acceptance/approval related to the job
Characteristics/Qualities: superficial person

Medicine: one gets a prescription, which helps improvement – tendency
towards hairloss
