Recommendations on how the Organization could achieve its goal of

being a “Zero-Waste Manufacturing” Organization.

Zero-waste manufacturing means the implementation of more sustainable practices
throughout the entire production and supply chain (Kerdlap & Low, 2019). This means not
only removing waste from the production site but also thinking about the overall life cycle
of the product. Fabrics for You (Pvt) Ltd has so far been successful in building sustainable
communities and has also taken initiatives in recycling where discarded handloom textiles
are converted into useful by-products. One of their goals is to become a "Zero Waste
Manufacturing " organization in the years to come. The ultimate goal of zero waste is to
develop a more cyclical economy through product redesign to minimize the environmental
impact of products. The following are some recommendations on how Fabrics for You
(Pvt) Ltd manufacturing could achieve its goal of becoming a "zero waste Manufacturing
" organization.

a) Establishment of enterprise resource planning systems

Many businesses recommend the use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
to minimize manufacturing waste. Fabrics for You (Pvt) Ltd requires industry-specific
features and capabilities ERP system to manage, automate, track, collaborate, and
integrate every step of their dynamic manufacturing process from customer order to
shipping and distribution ( Abu Al-Re, 2016). For example, ERP could maintain the
relationship between Fabrics for You (Pvt) Ltd’s and the dye house, weaving center,
cutting room, an apparel manufacturing section, and a toys and accessories
manufacturing section.

“Zero waste manufacturing” could only be achieved if the waste is properly classified
according to type, quantified, and carefully monitored from the collection stage to the
disposal. Enterprise Resource Planning (EPR) software simplifies this process. It assists
in managing all information, including cost, method of disposal, quantity, dumpsite,
carrier, invoice, shipping, etc. ( Safitri, Ridwan, Septo Hediyanto, & El Hadi, 2021).
Moreover, ERP allows Fabrics for You (Pvt) Ltd to easily minimize unnecessary
expenses.
