Teaching notes
Award a point per item for accuracy and a point for
ability to communicate well.
Activity 5 asks pupils to talk about appearance.
Do an example with the class. Point to the first
picture and say He’s got a beard. Say He hasn’t
got … and prompt pupils to answer. Accept all correct
answers. Put pupils in pairs. They take turns pointing
to a picture and saying a sentence with has got.
Their partner says a sentence about the same picture
using hasn’t got. Monitor and check pupils’ sentences
are correct.
Activity 6 asks pupils to ask and answer Has he/she
got …?
Do the example with the class. Point to the girl and
ask Has she got a crown? Prompt pupils to look at
the girl’s box and elicit the answer, No, she hasn’t.
Encourage them to say something she has got. Put
pupils in pairs. They take turns asking a question
for their partner to answer. They should ask or
answer five questions.
