Flat Bag
Width = Opening of bag
Length = Usable portion of bag
Gauge = Film thickness, measured in mils or microns

Width x Length

Example
Width = 6 inches
Length = 9 inches
Gauge = .002 inches
Bag size is written as: 6” x 9” 2 mil
Gusset Bag
Measuring Bottom Gusseted Bags

Width x Length x Gusset

Width = Across opening of the bag

Length = From opening to bottom of the bag (with gusset tucked in)
Gusset = Distance across the open face of bottom pleat
Gauge = Thickness of bag, measured in mils.

Width x Length x Gusset

Gusset = 3 inches
Gauge = .002 inches
Bag size is written as: 6" X 9" X 3" 2 mil
Measuring Side Gusseted Bags

Width = Across opening of the bag (with gusset tucked in)

Gusset = Distance across the open face of side pleat
Length = From the opening to the bottom of the bag
Gauge = Thickness of bag, measured in mils.
