Arqus Joint Master’s Programme European Studies:

information for your studies at the University of Graz

Admission to studies
The admission process is coordinated by Leipzig University. As a Joint Programme student, you will be
enrolled at all universities. In order to start the enrollment process, you will be asked to register and to
complete your personal data in the Mobility-Online system. After verification of your documents by
Leipzig University and the completion of the admission process, the JP team will issue the admission
certificate and the visa letter (if applicable). You will receive an email once the document(s) has/have
been uploaded to the Mobility-Online system.
Most of you have already started or completed the registration process in Mobility Online. We would like to
ask those of you who have not started yet to please register for Mobility Online according to the instructions
you received by email.
There is no specific deadline until when you must complete the admission procedure in Mobility Online,
however the enrolment process should be finalized by the time of course registration (early September).

Enrollment for studies

The next step after receiving the admission letter is to enroll at the University of Graz in your respective
Master’s programme. Mobility Online will guide you through this process.
From mid-July at the earliest you will get an email with instructions. You will first have to download, sign and
upload the so called “Stammdatenblatt” (personal data sheet). As a next step you will receive the payment
information for the tuition and/or student union fee by email. After having paid the fee, you will receive a pin
code to activate your personal UNIGRAZonline (UGO) account.
Please note that course registration can only be done after enrollment.

Please come to our office in order to finalize your enrollment process when you arrive in Graz.
Please bring the originally signed data sheet (Stammdatenblatt), the originally signed application form as well
as the hard copies of your admission documents.

Visa and Residence Permit (if applicable)

Please start the application for residence permit as soon as you receive your admission letter and Visa
invitation letter. In case of questions, please contact the relevant Austrian embassy or the Welcome Center at
the University of Graz (welcome@uni-graz.at).
More information can also be found on our orientation website.

Note: Joint Programme students apply for a residence permit “student with mobility”
Joint Programme students are eligible for a residence permit 'student with mobility' for 2 years due to the
student-researcher directive of the European Union. You have to hand in an additional letter (Visa invitation
letter) from the Joint Programme team that provides additional information about your study programme.
This will allow you to get the permit for 2 years instead of 12 months.
Note: you do not need to prove the financial means for 2 years, only for 12 months.
