16. Two tangents TP and TQ are drawn to a circle with centre O from an external point T.
Prove that ∠ PTQ = 2 ∠ OPQ.

17. From a point P on the ground the angle of elevation of the top of a 10 m tall building is
30°. A flag is hoisted at the top of the building and the angle of elevation of the top of the

flagstaff from P is 45°. Find the length of the flagstaff and the distance of the building from
the point P. (You may take √ 3 = 1.732)
18. In the given figure, O is the centre of the circle. Find ∠ APC , if DA and DC are tangents
and ∠ADC =500.

19. A 20 m deep well with diameter 7 m is dug and the earth from digging is evenly spread out

to form a platform 22 m by 14 m. Find the height of the platform.

b) A statue, 1.6 m tall, stands on the top of a pedestal. From a point on the ground, the
angle of elevation of the top of the statue is 60° and from the same point the angle of
elevation of the top of the pedestal is 45°. Find the height of the pedestal.

21. Draw a circle of radius 3 cm. Take two points P and Q on one of its extended diameter
each at a distance of 7 cm from its centre. Draw tangents to the circle from these two points 4

b) The tenth term of an A.P., is −37 and the sum of its first six terms is −27. Find the sum
of its first eight terms.
23. a) In Fig., XY & X′Y′ are two parallel tangents to a circle with centre O & another tangent 4
AB with point of contact C intersecting XY at A & X′Y′ at B. Prove that ∠ AOB = 90°.

25. A tent is in the shape of a cylinder surmounted by a conical top. If the height and diameter 4
of the cylindrical part are 2.1 m and 4 m respectively, and the slant height of the top is 2.8
m, find the area of the canvas used for making the tent. Also, find the cost of the canvas of
the tent at the rate of `500 per m2 . (Note that the base of the tent will not be covered with
canvas.)
26. India is competitive manufacturing location due to the low cost of manpower and strong 4
technical and engineering capabilities contributing to higher quality production runs. The
production of TV sets in a factory increases uniformly by a fixed number every year. It
produced 16000 sets in 6th year and 22600 in 9th year.
a) Form the AP, find the first term, difference and production during 8th years. (2m)
b) In which year, the production is Rs 29,200 and also find the difference of the production
during 7th year and 4th year. (2marks)

A person is observing the "statue of unity" of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (Iron man of India)
of height 182m, from a point A on the ground, the angle of elevation of the top of the statue
is 30 degree and from another point B few meters away from this point A on the same
ground, the angle of elevation of the top of the same statue is 60 degree.(√ 3=1.73) Write
the answer adjusting to two decimal places.
a) Find the distance between the base of the statue and the person standing at point A.
b) Find the distance between person standing at point A and point B.
28. Arjun of 10th standard student makes a project on corona virus in science for an exhibition 4
in his school. In this project, he picks a sphere which has volume 38808cm3, and 11solid
cylindrical shapes, each of volume 1540 cm3 with length 10cm.

a) Find the radius of both sphere and cylindrical shape used in the corona virus model.
b) Find the total volume of the shape formed in the project.
