2. Maps or images of local areas in the students' hometowns.

describe what they see. Elicit vocabulary related to locations (e.g., park, school,

flashcards. Show each flashcard and have students repeat the word after you.

as "What is your favorite place in your hometown?" or "How do you usually get to
school?" Encourage them to write short answers.
4. Pair Sharing (10 minutes):
 Pair up the students and ask them to share their answers with their partners.
 Encourage them to ask follow-up questions and engage in a conversation about
their hometowns.
5. Group Activity - My Hometown Map (10 minutes):
 Divide the class into small groups.
 Provide each group with a map or image of a local area in one of their hometowns.
 Ask each group to discuss and describe the location, including nearby landmarks,
streets, and directions. They can take turns speaking.
6. Group Presentation (5 minutes per group):
 Have each group present their local area to the class, using the vocabulary and
directions they discussed.
 Encourage classmates to ask questions and provide feedback.
7. Wrap-Up (5 minutes):
 Summarize the main points of the lesson, highlighting the new vocabulary learned
and the importance of practicing English in real-life situations.
Ask if any students discovered something new or interesting about their classmates'
hometowns.
8. Homework Assignment (optional):
 Assign homework that involves writing a short paragraph or diary entry about their
favorite place in their hometown, using the vocabulary and phrases learned in class.
