To remove the split view, click Remove Split, drag the splitter to the top or bottom of your

document window, or double-click the splitter.

TIP In earlier versions of Word, a toggle for showing and hiding the ruler and the ability to
split the window were located above the horizontal scrollbar. These options are no longer 5
available in Word 2013. If you frequently use these commands, you can add them to your
Quick Access Toolbar. To do so, right-click the command in the ribbon and then click Add
To Quick Access Toolbar.
