OF THE ANCIENT CIVILIZATION WE HAVE STUDIED, WHICH ONE WOULD YOU

CHOOSE TO LIVE IN AND WHY? WHAT ASPECTS OF THIS CIVILIZATION DO YOU
FIND MOST FASCINATING AND HOW DO YOU THINK LIVING IN THIS SOCIETY
WOULD IMPACT YOUR LIFE AND WORLDVIEW?

The degree of development at which people coexist peacefully in societies is

essentially what is meant to be understood as civilization. The earliest established and

stable societies that served as the model for succeeding republics, nations, and empires

are particularly referred to as ancient civilization. The early periods of the far more

general topic known as ancient history are the focus of the study of ancient civilization.

The period of ancient history spanned more than 35 centuries, starting with the

development of writing in 3100 BC. Although writing allowed for the preservation of

historical records, humanity existed long before the invention of writing (see Human

Origins). Ancient civilizations have given an impact to our way of living now, from what

we know, we do and the material things that we have.

There is numerous ancient civilization that we studied, but Sumerian Civilization

caught my eye. Located between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers in Mesopotamia, the

Fertile Crescent encompasses the ancient civilization of Sumer. I choose to live in this
civilization to witness the unfolding of their breakthroughs in language, architecture,

administration, and other fields, are the forerunners of modern human civilization. These

things alone fascinate me. Knowing this is an influential civilization by how numerous

technologies, such as the wheel, cuneiform script, mathematics, geometry, irrigation,

saws and other tools, sandals, chariots, harpoons, and beer, were created or enhanced

by the Sumerians. Living in this society would greatly impact my entire life and

worldview. Witnessing how things unfolds in front of me will give me more appreciation

to the things I knew and new knowledge I might get from experiencing it, firsthand.

In conclusion, these things that Sumerian Civilization were all crucial to the

advancement of human civilization. Sumerians of ancient Mesopotamia also invented

time, writing, and numerous other facets of our daily existence. A day started at sunrise

and concluded at sunset, according to the Sumerians. Living in this civilization would be

a great opportunity to learn more and appreciate more the things that relates to science

and technology.
