Aim - Study of DOS Commands.

Material Required - System (Desktop or laptop).

Theory - DOS Commands are instructions that allow Windows users to conduct tasks on files

and folders. As you may know, a file is a container for a collection of information or data, and a

directory is a collection of files.

Some DOS commands are :-

cd.. = Call Directory (To go back)

dir = Directory

dir windows = Shows directory of windows

exit = This Command is used to exit from Terminal

Procedure -

Step - 1: Open Command prompt On your Desktop and use ‘cd..’ command to proceed .

Here ‘cd..’ command is used to call directory or to go back.

Step - 2 : Use ‘dir’ command to open directory and then use ‘dir windows’ to open directory of

windows and volume serial drive is windows and drive serial no. is 78E3-269E .

Step - 3 : Use command ‘time’ to see current time and after that click on “ENTER” button and

then use command ‘exit’ to exit from command prompt windows.

Result - We have successfully performed practical DOS commands.
