Permissible cable lengths

Permissible cable lengths 30 m

The ambient conditions and the local conditions in the system can result in special requirements
for the installation of cables. These must be taken into consideration accordingly.
For the integration of shielded I/O cables in an equipotential bonding concept for the automation
system, the following applies in principle:
Shielded analog I/O cables may only be connected directly to functional earth ground potential
at a single point. This results in the prevention of voltage equalization currents via the analog ca-
ble. Additional information is available on request.

The data contains the offset error, gain error, and linearity error. All percentage values refer to
the relevant positive measuring range final value. Unless stated otherwise, the values refer to
nominal operation (nominal voltage US = UL = 24 V, preferred horizontal mounting position, "IB
IL" format, default filter setting, the same measuring range setting for the channels, etc.).
Please also take into consideration the values for temperature drift and the tolerances influenced
by electromagnetic interference. The maximum tolerance values represent the worst-case mea-
surement inaccuracy. They contain the theoretically maximum possible tolerances in the corre-
sponding measuring ranges. In the same way, the theoretical maximum possible tolerances of
the calibration and test equipment have been taken into account.

Tolerance and temperature response at TA = -25°C to +60°C

The drift values refer to the relevant measuring range final value.
The data refers to nominal operation with horizontal installation on DIN rail.

Formula for calculating the tolerance influenced by temperature

Typical temperature drift Drifttyp = Δϑ x TCtyp x MFV
Where:
Drifttyp = Typical temperature drift
Δϑ = Temperature difference between the ambient tempera-
ture of the module TA and +25°C
TCtyp = Typical temperature coefficient in ppm/K
MFV = Measuring range final value (e.g., 10 V voltage mode)

Formula for calculating the tolerance influenced by temperature

Maximum temperature drift Driftmax = Δϑ x TCmax x MFV
Where:
Driftmax = Maximum temperature drift
Δϑ = Temperature difference between the ambient tempera-
ture of the module TA and +25°C
TCmax = Maximum temperature coefficient in ppm/K
MFV = Measuring range final value
Example Voltage mode 10 V
Ambient temperature TA = 40°C
Temperature coefficient TCtyp = 50 ppm/K
Temperature coefficient TCmax = 65 ppm/K

Drifttyp = Δϑ x TCtyp x MFV = 10 V x ± 50 ppm/K x (+ 40°C -

25°C) = 10 V x ± 0.00005 1/K x 15°C = ± 7.5 mV

Driftmax = Δϑ x TCmax x MFV = 10 V x ± 65 ppm/K x (+ 40°C -

25°C) = 10 V x ± 0.000065 1/K x 15°C = ± 9.75 mV

Additional tolerances may occur due to the influence of high-frequency electromagnetic interfer-
ence caused by wireless transmission systems in the near vicinity. The specified values refer to
nominal operation. The components are directly exposed to interference without the use of ad-
ditional shielding measures (e.g., steel cabinet).
The tolerances specified above can be reduced through additional shielding for the I/O module
(e.g., use of a shielded control box/control cabinet, etc.). Please observe the measures recom-
mended in the Rexroth Inline system manual for your bus system.

6 Relevant Notes
Shielding
Shielding ground of the connected
twisted pair cables is electrically con-
nected to FE. When connecting net-
work segments, avoid ground loops,
potential transfers, and voltage equal-
ization currents via the braided shield.

Electrostatic discharge
The module contains components that
can be damaged or destroyed by elec-
trostatic discharge. When handling the
module, observe the necessary safety
precautions against electrostatic dis-
charge (ESD) according to
EN 61340-5-1 and IEC 61340-5-1.

Housing
Only personnel authorized by Bosch
Rexroth are permitted to open the
housing.

The module can be configured in two ways:
• Configuration with a configuration software, e.g.,

If you use a configuration software, the values for con-
figuration will be displayed on the interface.

Make sure you always use the latest

SDDML file version. It can be found on

Since three analog inputs have been assigned to
every structure instance, the configuration bytes for
the three inputs must be specified one after the other.
For configuration one byte for "Measuring range" and
one byte for "Filter" is required for every input. This re-

instance.

In the event of an error (e.g., short circuit of the en-
coder cable) the value entered in the IDN/S-0-

be displayed as encoder value. This value consists of
32 bits, whereas the lowest four bits are occupied with
the status code of the causing error.

If the password is read via the service channel, the

To change the password, send the currently active

password automatically activates write protection for
all password-protected parameters.
Activate Write Protection
You can activate the password write protection as fol-

Deactivate Write Protection
Password write protection is deactivated by writing the

Write Access Error
With every write access that is not used for changing
the password or activating or deactivating the write
protection, the module returns the error message "Er-

13 Timing Diagram

Fig. 13 Timing diagram

TSSI: Variable, depends on clock rate and data length

1. The time TAOUT is set permanently to 80 µs af-

ter reception of the setpoint values via MDT (the
four analog values are output almost simultane-
ously.)
2. The reading process for the analog inputs (ADU)
runs continuously without reference and requires
75 µs each to update all channels.
3. The input values of the SSI channels refer to the
T4x information. .
The reading process of the four SSI channels is
done in parallel and is started in such a way that
the read-in of all channels is completed simulta-
nously. The firmware determines from the data
rate and the data length of the SSI channel prior
to T4X when the read-in of each channel is start-
ed.
Example:
1 Mbaud TSSI = 24 * 1 µs + runtime (1 µs) = 25 µs
500 Kbaud TSSI = 24 * 2 µs + 1 µs = 49 µs
100 Kbaud TSSI = 24 * 10 µs + 1 µs = 241 µs

Pressing the reconfiguration button briefly at a certain
time during the initialization phase restores the default
settings.
The LEDs indicate the initialization phase:
