10 Journaling Prompts to Stop

Anxiety
1. Write a detailed list of things that worry you.
Stop writing when nothing else comes into your
mind. Pay attention to your anxiety level after
finishing.
2. Remember past situations when you were
successful despite being anxious. How did you
manage to achieve positive results, then?
3. Describe your anxiety in great detail: what do
you feel?
- how do you feel about it?
- how does it influence your mood and
productivity?
- in what parts of your body do you feel
anxious?
4.How can this anxious state help push you forward in
life? How can it facilitate the necessary changes you
need to make to solve problems or get to the next
level?
5.Imagine you could say a magic phrase, and your anxiety
would vanish. What would you do differently? What will
you start or stop doing? Write those magic phrases.
6. Write a dialog about your anxiety. Talk to it like it is a
part of you.
7. What thoughts and beliefs do I have that make me
anxious? Are they true? Where are they coming from?
8. Write 5-10 phrases to help you soothe yourself.
Continue writing them or repeat writing the same until
you feel better.
9. Describe your anxiety in a positive, welcoming light
instead of trying to get rid of it. Honoring and
respecting our emotions can bring a state of relief.
10.Write problems that cause you anxiety and try to
detect the root problem of it. List all the ways you
tried to solve these problems. Why are they effective
or not, and in the long or short term?
