BACK:
Using 3.0 mm needles & Nature cast on 57 (61-67-
73) sts. Work in 1/1 rib for 3 cm (1 in) [10 rows].
Change to 3.5 mm needles & Ile & work in St-St.
Armholes:
When work measures 15 (17-19-22) cm (6 [6½-
7½-8½] in) [46-52-58-68 rows] total cast off at the
beginning of every row as follows:
3, 6 & 12 mths: 3 sts twice, 2 sts twice, 1 st 6 times.
24 mths: 3 sts twice, 2 sts 4 times, 1 st 4 times.
Then continue on remaining 41 (45-51-55) sts.
Shoulders & neck:
When work measures 25 (28-31-35) cm (9¾ [11-
12¼-13¾] in) [76-84-94-106 rows] total cast off 3 (4-
5-5) sts, work 10 (10-12-13) sts, cast off the central
15 (17-17-19) sts for the neck, work remaining 13
(14-17-18) sts. Each side will now be completed
separately.
Next row ws: Cast off 3 (4-5-5) sts, work to central
cast off sts and put remaining sts on a stitch holder.
Next row rs: Cast off 2 sts at neck edge, work to
end.
Next row ws: Cast off 4 (4-5-5) sts, work to end.
Work 1 row straight.
Next row ws: Cast off 4 (4-5-6) sts.
With ws facing pick up sts left on the stitch holder.
Cast off 2 sts, work to end. Next row rs: Cast off 4

at end of next rs row (2 sts in from edge) then on
every following rs row 11 (12-12-13) times.
(To Decrease 1 st, 2 sts in from edge: work until

AT THE SAME TIME
Pocket opening:
When work measures 18 (21-24-27) cm (7 [8¼-9½-
10½] in) [56-62-72-82 rows] total (= at the same time
as the 3rd neck dec) on next rs row: k4 (5-6-7), cast
off 10 (10-12-12) sts & replace with the sts for the
back of pocket, work to end.

3 mths: 3 sts once, 4 sts twice.
6 mths: 4 sts 3 times.
12 mths: 5 sts 5 times.
24 mths: 5 sts twice, 6 sts once.
FRONT RIGHT:
Work as for Left Front reversing all shaping &
without pocket.
NECK DECREASE
(To Decrease 1 st, 2 sts in from edge: k2, k2tog,
work to end).
SLEEVES
Using 3.0 mm needles & Nature cast on 37 (39-41-
43) sts & work in 1/1 rib for 3 cm (1 in) [10 rows].
Change to 3.5 mm needles & continue in St-St
using Ile for 16 (14-10-10) rows, then increase 1 st
at each edge of next rs row (2 sts in from edge)
then as foll:
3 mths: No more increases.
6 mths: 1 st at each edge of following 14th row.
12 mths: 1 st at each edge of following 10th row,
then 1 st at each edge of every following 8th row
twice.
24 mths: 1 st at each edge of following 10th row,
then 1 st at each edge of every following 8th row

FRONT & BACK NECK BORDERS
Border No 1: Using 3.0 mm needles & Nature cast
on 72 (80-88-100) sts & work in St-St for 6 rows then
leave on a spare needle.
Border No 2: Using 3.0 mm needles & Nature cast
on 101 (114-120-134) sts & work in St-St for 6 rows
then leave on a spare needle.
On the left front, 3 sts from the edge, make
4 buttonholes without cutting thread (see instruction
pages): the first 1.5 cm (½ in) from the cast on edge,
the second 1 cm (½ in) from the beginning of neck,
the others at regular spacings.
Graft border no 1 along one of the fronts (see
Grafting a Border instructions), then border no 2
along the other front & around back of neck.
Sew the edges of the borders together so that your
sewing does not show when the border rolls over.
Sew sleeves into position, sew sleeve & side seams.
Sew on buttons.

TO MAKE UP
Join shoulder seams.
Sew the back of the pocket to the ws of left front.
