Notes from the editor:
Tempo markings are only suggestions. For instance, I've read that the Mv. 1's Adagio has been played
as low as 52 and as high as 70. For reference:
- Stern: just above 60,
- Perlmann: just below 60,
- Heifetz: about 65
- Grumiaux: just above 65.
Personally, I like to take it a bit faster (like Grumiaux), but I've even heard an Amazon Music recording
go as low as 54. In short, play what you think feels right. Your teacher may correct you.
I've added several bowings and fingerings as well. I really felt like some of the fingerings just didn't work
in the original Joachim part I found. As for bowings, I thought it would behelpful to have a few more
here and there to aid with practice. I also changed a couple bowings around to what I think works best.
I also opted to get rid of that Ossia line in mv 3. I have never heard anyone play it with grace notes.

Allegro Aperto (mv 1) - open allegro (like "open-ended")
Attacca - Begin (from attaccare)
Calando (mv 1) - decreasingly (from calare)
Soavemente (mv 2) - gently, sweetly, delicately
