Q1-NARRATIVE REPORT IN HOOMEROOM GUIDANCE

Make a short paragraph about HG program and how do you implement it in your grade level.

Homeroom Guidance Program is a great help for parents because it provides wholesome
learning experiences that will foster positive attitudes, behavior and values to children. HG modules
teach children how to behave properly at home and in the community. It develops harmonious
relationship between parents, teachers and learners.
In Grade Three Level, we conduct Homeroom Guidance online session every Friday. Advisers
discuss the content of the modules and help them develop good habits and personality. Yet, it is sad
to know that few learners only are able to attend online session.
For online and modular learners, we instruct them to compile their outputs in their Homeroom
Guidance portfolios. Teachers collect HG portfolios at the end of each quarter.

A. Challenges:
 An average of 35% only of the total Grade Three learners were able to attend online
session in Homeroom Guidance.
 It’s difficult for slow learners under modular distance learning to answer the Homeroom
Guidance modules because the context is English.
 It’s also difficult to identify the learners who are able to develop and implement the
competencies in real life since we do not have face to face set up.

Gains and Benefits:

1. Learners : They would learn and understand their rights and responsibilities as a child.
They would develop sense of responsibility after knowing their roles in the family and
community.
2. Parents : Homeroom Guidance would help parents in guiding their children as they grow
up and take responsibilities as part of a family and community.
3. Teachers : Through Homeroom Guidance lessons, teachers had much easier time to

initiate conversation where pupils open up about their past and present
experiences as a member of the family and community.
4. School Head : Through Homeroom Guidance lessons, both learners and parents came to
realize the importance of education and the rights of every child thus It helps to
minimize drop outs.
5. Other Stakeholders: Through Homeroom Guidance lessons, children might grow up
responsible, productive and virtuous human resource in the future.

Recommendation:
With the challenges encountered in the implementation of the SLC, the following were
recommended:
1. Learners : Learners should be given extension in the submission of the HG modules.
2. Parents : Flexible time for SLC Consultation so that working parents can be able to
consult the activities in HG modules.
3. Teachers : Flexible time for SLC Consultation so that teachers can attend further to the
queries of parents regarding the HG activities.
4. School Head : School head should allow flexible schedule of SLC and HG consultations.
