1. understanding of whole numbers up to 10 000 000.
2. demonstrates understanding of divisibility, order of operations, factors and
multiples, and the four fundamental operations involving fractions
B. Performance Standards
1. is able to recognize and represent whole numbers up to 10 000 000 in
various forms and contexts.
2. is able to apply divisibility, order of operations, factors and multiples, and
the four fundamental operations involving fractions in mathematical problems

M5NS-Ie-84
II. CONTENT Adds fractions and mixed fractions without and with regrouping.
Say the word FACT if the statement is true and BLUFF if it is wrong.
(Bluff) 1. Is 28 + 15 = 40
(Fact) 2. Is 127 + 59 = 186
(Fact) 3. Similar Fractions are fractions with the same denominator.
(Fact) 4. Fractions with unlike denominators are called dissimilar fractions.
(Bluff) 5. is an example of improper fractions?
Review
The learners will pick up one flashcard and will answer the question
written on it.
B. Establishing a purpose of the new lesson 3. Motivation
(Motivation) Study the map below.
Step 1: Change the fractional part to similar fractions by using the least
common denominator (LCD).
1 = 1
+
=
Step 2: Add the similar fractions and bring down the whole number.
1
+
= 1
Step 4: Add the whole numbers.
1+1 = 2
2 or 2
Take a look at the map again. If Anne is at the church and wants to go to the
park, how far will she travel? What would be our number sentence?
F. Developing Mastery (Leads to Formative 4. Reinforcing the Concepts/Lesson
Assessment) Strategy: Pairing
Let the pupils answer the given problem below in pair.
Mrs. Martin bought 5 ½ m of white cloth and 2/5 m of blue cloth. How
many meters of cloth did she buy I all?
To add dissimilar fraction, find the LCD first. Then rename them to
similar fraction. Add as in adding similar fractions and reduce to
lowest term.
V. REMARKS
VI. REFLECTION
A. No. of learners who earned 80% in the
evaluation.
B. No. of learners who require additional
activities for remediation who scored
below 80%.
C. Did the remedial lessons work? No. of
learners who have caught up with the
lesson.
D. No. of learners who continue to require
remediation
E. Which of my Teaching strategies worked
well? Why did these work?
F. What difficulties did I encounter which
my principal or supervisor can help me
solved?
G. What innovation or localized materials
did I use/ discover which I wish to share
with other teachers?
