CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION

1. Background
Objective text is a type of text that attempts to present information about
a subject or object without adding personal interpretation. The goal is to
provide readers with accurate and clear information, so they can draw their
own conclusions. This text describes objects according to the actual situation,
without any additional opinions from the author. Thus, objective text allows
readers to imagine objects in a real and in-depth way. Even though it
sometimes seems excessive, every writer has their own way of providing a
comprehensive picture to their readers. This text can also be interpreted as a
personal description, by including small movements, object shapes, and
emotional elements so that the reader can feel or see something from the
author's point of view. Thus, objective descriptive text is a powerful tool for
describing the world around us accurately and without bias.

CHAPTER II
DISCUSSION

1. UNDERSTANDING OBJECTIVE TEXT

Objective text is text that contains information about an object as
it is without additional opinions. This text attempts to present facts objectively
without interference from the author's opinion. Examples of objective text can
be found in objective description text, which describes an object according to
its actual situation without the author's opinion. Another type of text related
to objective text is subjective descriptive text, which contains information
with the addition of the author's opinion according to what he saw, heard or
felt.1
Objective text is a type of text that tries to present information about
a subject or object without adding interpretation or personal interpretation.
The goal is to provide readers with accurate and clear information, so they
can draw their own conclusions. Objective text describes an object according
to the actual situation, without the embellishment of the author's opinion. This
allows readers to imagine the situation in a real and in depth way.2
In an objective text, the writer must explain something in as much
detail and concrete as possible. Even though it sometimes seems excessive,
every writer has their own way of providing a comprehensive picture to their
readers. This text can also be interpreted as a personal description, by
including small movements, object shapes, and emotional elements so that
the reader can feel or see something from the author's point of view. So,
objective texts are a powerful tool for describing the world around us
accurately and without bias.

2. OBJECTIVE TEXT STRUCTURE
The structure of objective text follows a certain pattern to present
information clearly and systematically. The following are the main
components that are usually present in objective text:3
a. Introduction
This section provides a brief description of the object to be
described. The introduction should be short and straight to the point.
b. Main Description
1. Identification, Briefly explain what the object to be described is. For
example, if you are describing a fruit, say what type of fruit it is.
2. Physical Characteristics, Describe in detail the physical characteristics of
the object. This can be shape, size, color, texture and other features.
Example: "Bananas are cylindrical in shape, yellow in color, and have
skin that peels easily."
3. Function or Use, Explain what the object's function or use is. For
example, “Bananas are often consumed as fresh fruit or used in various
recipes.”
4. Location or Context, If relevant, include information about the location
or context in which the object was found or used. For example, “Bananas
grow in tropical and subtropical climates.”
5. Comparison, Sometimes, comparison with similar objects can help
readers understand better. For example, “Bananas are sweeter than
apples, but have a softer texture.”
6. Conclusion, Summarize and extract the information that has been
provided. There is no need to add personal opinions in this section.

Remember that objective descriptive text must prioritize facts
and avoid subjective judgments

3. EXAMPLE OF OBJECTIVE TEXT

The following is an example of objective text:
Indonesia's forests are one of the largest forests in the world
with an area of around 120 million hectares. This forest has very high
biodiversity, with thousands of plant and animal species living in it.
Indonesian forests also have an important role in maintaining the balance
of the global ecosystem, such as producing oxygen, absorbing carbon
dioxide and maintaining water availability.
Indonesia's forests consist of various types of forests, such
as tropical rain forests, mangrove forests, swamp forests and mountain
forests. Each type of forest has different characteristics, such as
temperature, rainfall, and the types of plants that grow in it. However,
unfortunately Indonesia's forests experienced very serious damage as a
result.
The objective text above describes Indonesia's forests in
detail and factually, without any additional opinions from the author.
This text provides information about biodiversity, types of forests, and
the important role of Indonesian forests in maintaining the balance of the
global ecosystem. Apart from that, this text also provides information
about the destruction of Indonesian forests and the efforts that can be
made to protect and preserve them.

CHAPTER IV

CLOSING

1. Conclusion
The concept of objective text involves presenting factual information
about an object without personal opinion or bias. The text aims to provide clear
and accurate details, allowing readers to draw their own conclusions. The
structure of an objective text follows a certain pattern that includes an
introduction, a detailed description that includes identification, physical
characteristics, function, location or context, comparison with similar objects,
and a conclusive summary, avoiding personal opinions or interpretations. This
structured approach allows for a comprehensive depiction, ensuring an
unbiased depiction of the subject, thereby empowering the reader to visualize
and understand the object authentically.
