Re: Miss Hilary Di Santo, aged 70

Dear Ms Pizzica

Ms Di Santo is being discharged from Newton Hospital back into your care today. She
underwent a hallux valgus surgery on her right foot and she needs your further care.
Ms Di Santo has come into our ward with acute pain, slight swelling and difficulty in movements
and she has suffered an osteotomy. A surgical boot was provided to help her post-operative. She
shows general improvement and her vital signs and ECG are normal.
Ms Di Santo was recommenced on antibiotic therapy (Augmentin Duo Forte 875/125mg orally
twice a day). In addition to her usual treatment for hypertension, she requires pain relief
(Panadeine Forte, codeine/paracetamol 30/ 500 mg twice every six hours, if she needs). She also
was advised to ease herself by elevate her foot, rest-care, avoid weight-bearing and ice pads if
she needs. Moreover, after she will have her surgical boot off, she will need skin care.
Ms Di Santo will have her staples and surgical boot removed at Osteopathy Outpatients on 7th of
July 2018 where a follow-up physiotherapy will be arranged. The hospital will provide brace
and crutches to support her movements.
Please contact me with any quires.
Yours sincerely,
Charge Nurse
